2 nights ago I'd watched a Seconds From Disaster documentary on the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
It's about a Palestinian terrorist group "Black September," who'd traveled to Munich in an attempt to take out the Israeli athletes and coaches participating in the games.
Although the Nazi regime in Germany had happened 30 years prior to the Munich games, and the memory of the 1936 Berlin Olympics(which Hitler had used for his own gain during the Holocaust)hung in the air, the Israeli team still played.
Two weeks into the Olympics, an event that is supposed to represent international peace, prosperity & joy, the terrorist attacks happened.
There were security issues which were not enforced by the German authorities.
Nor were the rescue missions carried out properly.
The snipers were ORDINARY policemen.
Apparently, the professionals were not allowed to participate in domesticated affairs.
HELLO?! Does this terrorist attack spell DOMESTIC to you?!
In the end, all 11 hostages died in this ridiculously planned rescue operation.
Saw The Strangers yesterday.
The premise is similar to the Kate Beckinsale movie Vacancy,
except this movie is loosely based on the Manson family murders.
Regardless, it was an okay movie to spend a Saturday afternoon.

NOTE: As Milo has been on a rebellious streak, MOTD will be on hold until he learns how to behave himself!
