The moon cakes that my parents ordered have arrived last night.
They come in long, pink boxes with a reddish-white jade on top!
Eh, they must have cost a bomb, afterall, moon cakes are not cheap. (･⊆･

The Mid-Autumn festival is on the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar.
So the actual date is 25th September and always tied near my birthday! (｡◕‿‿◕｡)ノ

I have a love-hate relationship with moon cakes.
They are so fattening and normally I can't finish one whole cake by myself.
I love eating those with salted egg yolk
(Thank God this year I can count on Wannie to share with. ( ・(ｪ)・))

Besides the moon cakes, there's also the 'little piglets in baskets.'
(Yes, Wannie have gotten heavy ever since. ・・・ ( 　＾ω＾))

中秋节是在农历的八月十五呢.
阳历的日期是9月25号, 每次跟我的生日很接近哦!! (｡◕‿‿◕｡)ノ

我对月饼又爱又恨 (笑)
吃太多会胖， 而且我每次都吃不完一整块月饼.
不过... 我很喜欢吃咸蛋黄耶~ (笑)
(今年能够跟万万一起度过中秋节，万万还能帮我吃完月饼 ( ・(ｪ)・))

除了月饼，还有'猪笼.'
(是的, 万万重了很多. ・・・ ( 　＾ω＾))

Every year when Mid-Autumn Lantern (aka Mooncake) Festival comes around, Mum always buy these little 'piglets in the basket' without fail.

Each of these biscuits is shaped in the form of a 'piglet' - you can just about make out the snout, indented ears, very plump-looking torso, and yes, a little knob at the end denoting the tail! They are usually packaged in bright multi-colored plastic baskets

These 'piglets' are actually made from the same pastry used for the outer shell of the traditional baked mooncakes. While some can be a little dry, there are others which are just the right balance between firm yet moist, making chewing into it a pleasure - especially for some of us who prefer the pastry shell of mooncakes to the lotus paste and egg yolk filling within.
