I'd attended the Eye On Youth workshop over the weekend, organized by LA MER. First of all, I wanna thank Tina Kaur for securing a seat for me, upon reading my unpleasant experience at one of their counters. Actually I had booked seats for a later time slot but heard nothing back, so was kinda surprised to receive a message from her who offered me the 10am spot. There weren't any photographs taken during the 2-hour session, so I went the extra mile by taking mental notes on special techniques on how to care for our eyes - the windows to our soul.
We began with the obligatory presentation on how to care for our eyes, and medical condition that may be caused by hereditary and other external factors such as long-term exposure to sunlight, pollution etc. Training manager Cecilia took over and related the famous story on how founder Max Huber created the famed Miracle Broth and the process in which he incorporated Sonochemistry -the effects of sound on a cellular level that utilized light and sound waves- and the engineering with transformative effects of magnetized gemstones.
First up is the cleansing ritual - opt for the Cleansing Fluid if you wear makeup daily for it removes impurities effectively, especially waterproof mascara. We were then given Cleansing Lotion and Refining Facial, which is a luxurious treat indeed. The latter works as an exfoliator that instantly soothes and boosts skin's brightness and radiance, and can be used as a mask at the same time. The next step is softening with the use of the Tonic that revitalizes and enlivens skin.
The highlight of the workshop - we weren't just introduced to the brand's eye products but also their special techniques on how to utilize the powerful ingredients within. Most of us have puffy eyes in the morning that could be due to our unhealthy diet such as excess intake of water, sodium, caffine etc.
The Eye Balm Intense helps to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles as it visibly lifts and firms the areas around the eyes. Employing their unique Acupressure Eye Massage , the product will be effectively absorbed and soothes puffiness for a smoother, vibrant and rejuvenated appearance. In simple terms, this action that can combined with your desired eye product will de-clog your undereyes, specifically the areas that causes dark circles to form and help to lift and firm where the skin has sunken.
Following which is an intensive eye treatment using Creme de La Mer. The Miracle Broth contains a seasborne elixir known for its healing energies. Instead of using warmth from your fingers to activate the ingredients, we were instructed to slather a generous amount around our eyes for a good 10 minutes. We ended the Eye ritual using the Eye Concentrate, a vanity table staple for many women across the world. Making use of the silver applicator ensures the product to penetrate into our delicate eye areas and reduces dark circles and fine lines for a brighter, radiant and more supple results.
That's not all, after pampering the eyes, we tried the Infusion consisting of 3 formulas that target different concerns. The Radiant Infusion delivers clarity; Hydrating Infusion plumps the skin and restore moisture, and Blanc de la Mer Infusion for hyper-pigmentation problems. I chose the Radiant Infusion which can be used before serum and before/after your moisturizer. I felt the consistency to be slightly drying after experiencing some flakiness, thus I would prefer to apply a hydrating base prior.
Did you know that Botox is now banned in Hollywood? Although the procedure greatly reduces wrinkles, crow feet and laugh lines, but it freezes the muscles which prevents actors from making appropriate facial expressions. In comes the Regenerating Serum that lifts and firms the complexion and helps to regenerates tissues under scars. I lilke that my laugh lines are tightened afterwards.
We ended the entire skincare ritual with moisturizer with 4 selections to choose from - Creme de la Mer, Gel de la Mer, Moisture Lotion and the Oil-Absorbing Lotion. I chose the gel verson of the creme and patted onto my skin. This is a good alternative if you think the Creme might be too rich a formula for you. It is afterall, suitable for mature skin.
The Radiant Concealer contains precious marine and plant extracts with a gemstone technology that optically erases imperfections and treats all at the same time. I like the coverage, and the texture turns from cream to powder upon application.
I also managed to try the Translucent Powder; the lightweight texture might just be a great companion to CLARINS Extra-Firming Foundation which I have been trying out in the last 2 weeks. Not a fan of the Powder Brush though, it kept shedding and felt rough to the touch.
I shall end this post with a teaser, and let you figure out which LA MER product I purchased, in addition to the door gift.

1996 saw the establishment of LEMONGRASS HOUSE in Thailand by Bobby & Palita Duchowny. Yes, they are related to that X-Files actor *inserts infamous alien jingle*
Committed to develop specialized farm fresh products with a firm belief in using natural ingredients and essential oils, Lemongrass House has become one of the leading spa suppliers in Thailand. Many of their aromatherapy/spa treatments and products are distributed in 28 countries and can be found in major hotel spas in Thailand and around the world.
Besides producing award-winning hand-blended formulas which lies in the quality and concentration of essential oils and unique aromatic effects, all their products are free from sulphates, parabens, artificial fragrances and chemicals.
The founders are are also dedicated to an eco-friendly approach; all ingredients used are fresh and derived from safe, renewable resources and have not been tested on animals. Even their packaging are made from recycled or recyclable materials. Every 5 empty bottles entitles you to $4 off your next purchase.
The Hydrating Mosquito Repellent is one of their best-selling products, and the very one that spanned 14 outlets almost single-handledly. The Duchowny couple had set up a stall in Thailand's Chatuchak Marke; the product caught the eye of a foreign customer that prompted him to purchase several bottles after finding it not only effective in keeping away blood-sucking leeches, but also hydrates the skin.
An array of products ranging from shampoo, shower gels, pillow sprays, body lotions, bath salts etc. I personally love the Aromatic Room Spray in Vanilla Absolute. The calming scent lingers in the air for close to an hour, but got me craving for ice cream in the middle of the night (lol)
Bottles of essential oil greeted me as I ventured into their newly-opened outlet at Raffles City Shopping Centre. Besides the usual Lavender, Tea Tree Oil and other scents you may find elsewhere, Lemongrass House have various quirky ones such as Morning Sickness, and the aptly-named Joy that was included in my goodie bag. But the one scent that clutched my senses is another aptly named Happiness.
You may also find products that caters to children such as shampoo, shower gel, body lotions and even sunscreen! Suitable for all skin types and pampering the delicate skin of your little ones.
What really caught my attention as I look around the store is their small(but soon to grow) pets section. The products are highly sought after, especially the Paw Balm which was out of stock at that time. Milo have a strong odor that keeps coming back even after a fresh shower and the Spa Dog Spritzer comes in handy with its unique blend of Lemongrass and Thai Bergamot essential oils. I had meant to purchase it on the spot but Sarah, the marketing manager, stopped me and insisted on putting in together with my goodie bag. Thanks alot, babe!
For those who wish to purchase the Paw Balm, and I strongly recommend you to get one for your furry BFFs, kindly put down your name in the reservation book. This useful item is meant soothe and protect doggie paws after each stroll.
The staff are also knowledgeable, answering my every inquiry with utmost patience. There are currently 4 outlets in Singapore, with the latest at Raffles City S.C., #03-07A (Tel: 6336 7109) which opened last December.
- Liang Court, #B1-26 (Tel: 6100 0807)
- 313 Somerset, #B2-14 (Tel: 6100 0806)
- Parco P3-20, Millenia Walk (Tel: 6100 0309)
In conjuction with the upcoming Chinese New Year, there is 15% off festive scents, namely Royal Lotus and Mandarin. Although the promotion ends tomorrow(2nd Feb), do head down to the nearest outlet and check out assorted fragances. They make excellent gifts too!
My goodie bag consisted of:
- Lemongrass & Green Tea Moisturising Jojoba Bead Body Scrub
- Large bar of Vanilla soap
- Vanilla Absolute Shower Gel
- Vanilla Absolute Aromatic Room Spray
- "Joy" essential oil
- Lavender Hydrating Body Cream with pure lavender essential oil
The look I'd sported on that day. Yes it was the usual neutral browns but I had taken a small step out of my comfort zone and went all smokey. I would have gone even further with a black eyeshadow but didn't want to go overboard, considering the aromatherapeutic occasion. What correlation is there anyway? (lol)

A respected professional in the field of Aesthetic Medicine and appointed trainer for Botox and Fillers, Dr David Loh is also a well-known philosophist who believes that patients should “look better, not different,” he succeeds in supporting this motto with non-invasive treatments.
I was recently invited to the Media Launch of Dr. Loh's exclusive new skincare range, M-Lab by Dr David Loh. Held at Washi Private Dining Room located in the posh Mezzanine of the Grand Hyatt, it was attended by a handful members of the press, Pearlin who kindly invited me to the event, and a blogger(that's me in the photo above).
In contrast to the cozy, intimate session with Dr Woffles Wu, the afternoon with Dr Loh was straightforward with a brief introduction to M-Lab, followed by lunch.
M-Lab by Dr David Loh is a joint effort between Dr Loh and M-Lab. M-Lab is a label by Mesoestetic, a Spanish cosmeceutical company dedicated to carrying out clinical studies to provide safe and effective alternatives to plastic surgery.
With a promise to reinvent the idea of anti-aging skincare, Dr Loh has created the first plant-stem-cell based skincare product for use under the tropical weather like Singapore. Seeking to halt the effects of time and reverse the signs of aging, the active ingredient is the extracts of stem cells derived from the rare Swiss apple tree Uttwiler Spatlauber. These extracts protects the skin's own stem cells and boosts the productions of fibroblast cells, and stimulates them to regenerate more youth-enhancing skin cells.
Stem Cell Cream (S$180)
A richly moisturizing cream designed to be used all over the face and neck. The active ingredients boosts production of collagen and elastin - strengthens the connective tissue and improves the quality and texture of the skin.
Stem Cell Nanofiller (S$180)
A home use filler treatment for fine lips, it is also perfect for plumping and contouring lips. This product not only relies on the remarkable plant stem cell extracts as an active ingredient, but also contains Hyaluronic Acid that enhances the skin's water retention capabilites.
Stem Cell Intensive Serum (S$220)
Ultra-concentrated with a 10% stem cell extract, it acts as a powerful shock treatment to stop the skin's degradation process. Armoured with powerful antioxidants Vitamin A and E, it is a night repair that reactivates cell protection and renewal processes in the dermis and epidermis.
This night treatment has a runny texture and a light whiff of green apples; it is designated for use once a week.
The products are exclusively available at David Loh Surgery

5 Minutes to Anti-Aging, with your Pefect Pair
I sat down(literally) with a BA to find out the condition of my skin. She was taken by surprise when the analysis revealed that my skin is in tip-top form given the prominency of that 2 annoying zits on each of my cheek. The scanner also showed certain parts of my skin were starting to show signs of dehydration. Interestingly, I don't have melanin problem at the present time. Looks like gratitudes are in order to my serums; you might not see results on the surface but these products do show results in the dermis☆ Patience is the key word here.
After a brief consultation, I was given a softener and night moisturizer from the Hydrating range to pair up with the Bio-Performance Serum. I'd previously used the softener couple of years ago and am glad to come a full circle back to this product.
Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Corrective Serum
This time-defying serum continues a breakthrough ingredient Bio-Corrective Complex that boosts the productions of fibroblast cells by 27% - fibroblasts are essential and necessary to produce the 3 elements, collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid to keep the skin resilient. This concentrated formula reactivates and regenerate aging cells to prompt the skin to produce more youth-enhancing collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
Despite being a potent magnet for fingerprints, the luxurious capsule is opaque to prevent the formula to lose its efficacy with UV light resulting from sun exposure. Also, the pump design reduces any contamination risk and dispenses just the right amount for each usage.
Upon first impression, the gel-based texture is thick but with proper massage, it absorbs quickly and feels velvety on my skin. This facial massage technique, which promotes better blood circulation, sparks some similarity to Clarins Auto-Lifting Method.
Shiseido The Skincare
As I'd mentioned, the Hydro-Nourishing Softener used to be a staple in my skincare routine, but being a beauty blogger requires a consensual obligation to try out different products from various brand for reviews. This hydrating range is ideal if you prefer a hassle-free basic regime.
The Night Moisture Recharge has a thicky consistency compared to its lighter counterpart, thus it is fundamental to use the softener as a prep step to hydrate the skin and better absorption of the product.
Shiseido Future Solution Eye and Lip Regenerating Cream
A powerful restoring treatment that protects the skin's resilence that effectively corrects and helps prevent the apearance of lines and sagging around the delicate eye and lip areas.
The texture reminded me of Pond's Cold Cream albeit lot less greasy and easier to spread. There are mixed reviews pertaining t this product; only time will tell if it works on my undereye areas and laugh lines.
Thank You for reading. I will post up a review in a couple of weeks.

Few weeks back I was invited to the New Face Finals, Singapore's top modelling contest now in its 18th year. The event was presented by Subaru Motorimage and co-sponsored by Levi's, Clinelle and InnerShine Berry Essence.
Grunge took the main stage as hot guys pranced onstage, sweating all over the place. I was seated right in the front row(bad idea!) and had difficulty placing eye contact anywhere else, even though none were my type.
Nostalgia filled the air for the second half as another group of boys appeared in candy clothes and carrying pastel balloons. The event could be mistaken for a fashion show. The judging was unlike those of beauty pageants on television, where the contestants have to go through different segments. The panel of judges were seated at the end of the catwalk-esque stage where the ladies strut their stuff on the runway.
18-year-old polytechnic student Vivien Ong(far right) was crowned the ultimate winner of The New Paper New Face 2010. The communications student won the judges over with her impressive catwalk and charisma. Her spunky personality stood out the most among the many other cutesy contestants.
The event barely lasted 2 hours, and unless you are there to support any of your favorite New Face contestants, the show wasn't exciting at all. Tons of catwalk, a beatbox segment which had me yawning throughout, and the hosts failed to grab my attention. Their mini Q&A with the judges was heavily scripted and none of the jokes made were even funny.
Thank You Clinelle Singapore for the invitation.
*Partial photography credits to Haley.

Clinelle Singapore extended a private invitation to me few weeks ago, to attend their first bloggers' session. Held yesterday evening at Heart Bistro, Palais Renaissance, it was an intimate evening with only a handful of selected bloggers. It was nice to see familiar faces, such as Chantana, Iris and June. (I will be updating links when they post up their own recollections of the event).
The event was held in conjunction with the launch of their 2 new products as introduced by the lovely He Lin, and also to celebrate their re-packaging which sports a more lively and modern design. With a new 'Happy Skin Happy Face' mantra, Clinelle embraces the belief that properly nourished and protected skin reveals a happy, healthier outlook on our face.
The brand firmly believes the importance of skin health must be planted for confidence and natural radiance to come from within. Hence, their positioning of Professional Skinalist differentiates themselves as skin specialists dedicated to deliver effective and quality products through constant innovation and research.
With the best combination of science and nature, the new Clinelle products are formulated with the dermatologist-tested Envinix system with RX2 Action. In order to Repair, Refine and Reshield the skin, they take advantage of the power of botanical extracts, vitamins and natural essential oils.
With this Envinix system, all Clinelle products do not contain artificial fragrance, coloring nor comedogenic ingredients. They are also free of alcohol, lanolin and mineral oil, all the primary causes of clogged pores and skin irritations which causes breakouts, skin sensitization and excess stripping of moisture.
Makeup Trainer, Jasmine took the time to introduce the entire range of Clinelle products and demonstrated the correct way of cleansing, toning and moisturizing.
Attendees were treated to a sumptuous dinner and this lethal combination shot of Citrus and Grapefruit (according to my taste buds) serves as an appetizer to stimulate the appetite. I can't help but drool over the Roasted Black Cod with Baby Spinach and Edamame in Ginger Broth(S$28) while typing up this entry. Laded with Omega 3 Fats, the broth itself was a killer that makes you want to drink the soup down to the last bit. Our meals were completed with a healthy sweet-sour serving of fruits and sorbet. HEART BISTRO (Tel: 67372148) is located at 390 Orchard Road, Palais Renaissance #B1-08/09/10C.
A Caricaturist was engaged to draw cartoonish portraits! I had a nice 5min conversation with the humorous artist while I sat for him to do his art and even teased him not to include my zits. Sadly the finished work doesn't look like moi!
Established as a trusted brand since 2005, Clinelle's professionally formulated products and targeted treatment are affordable and suitable for daily use. I have been using their Moisture Glow for almost a year now; my GO-TO, which is suitable for my combination skin. It doesn't requires me to blot my face for hours under the sun, but the downside is that it does not contain SPF. Other products I've had previously purchased and used up were the Deep Cleansing Gel, Purifying Toner, Soothing Toner(mist form) and the Skin Smoothing Scrub.
I've often voiced concerns with re-formulated products because they can either be a hit or miss. I fully understand the pain of finding something that works for my skin, and then to find the new formulation inferior.
Having used both 'generations' of Clinelle products, the difference in their formula hasn't been too significant. But I observed that the Purifying Toner is slightly stickier than its 'ancestor,' and my skin starts to shine within 2 hours with the new Moisture Glow. I will be doing an in-depth comparison and review in the next coming months. Currently I only have the Moisturizer, Scrub and Soothing Toner on hand from the original line-up which has since been phased out.
Clinelle Blackhead Control Gel (S$25.90)
Launching this month, the anti-irritant and anti-bacterial properties of Alpha Bisbolol target persistent blackheads, controling sebum production and reduces pore size. This ingredient is extracted from the Chamomile plant that repairs and speeds up the skin's healthing process. Jasmine mentioned that results can be seen after 6 days of usage.
Clinelle Blemish Clear Mask (S$39.90)
This product has been selling like hotcakes since its re-introduction into the market. Other than containing the aforementioned Alpha Bisabolol, it incorporates green llite and white Kaolin clay to refine the skin and effectively draws out toxins, impurities and oil. The main active ingredient, Nab Rhodiola Extract is an effective antioxidant with advanced medicinal properties that reshield blemish inflamed skin and at the same time, preventing further acne attacks.
It can also be used for on-the-spot treatment, applying the product on existing acne to reduce inflammation.
Clinelle Brightening Serum (S$35.90)
This Clinelle star product harbors a Daily Flower Extract known as Belides that is highly efficient in evening out skin tone and replenishes moisture to the skin with the inclusion of Cristalhyal - a high performance derivative of Hyaluronic Acid with high water retention properties. It also contains Melaslow Complex that dramatically brightens the skin tone and reduce irritation for a natural, healthy-looking skin. Experience a visible brighter complexion in just eight weeks.
The New Paper New Face Grand Finals will be held tomorrow. Courtesy of Clinelle Singapore, I will be covering the event, so stay tuned for my report.

I was in attendance at the HIP Bloggers' Party organized by L'OREAL Paris yesterday. The event was held at Hairloom & Caramel(#01-52),tucked at a corner of Shaw Towers. The concept of a shop-within-a-shop isn't uncommon, but combining a hair salon and cafe together sounds interesting. Surprisingly, the typical smell of hair products and chemicals was not present across the cafe.
I apologize for the lack of photos from the event, following my continuous bout of mental and physical exhaustion. To make matters worst, I had only 3 hours of sleep the night before and ended up looking solemn.
A makeup demonstration by makeup artist, Julyen, took up most of the time. He presented numerous tips that proved to be extremely useful such as the "Wash and Pack" eye techniques, using products from the HiP makeup range. Applying an eyeshadow wash is the simplest technique especially for those new to makeup application, use either your brush or clean finger and apply a color all over your lids.
When it comes to building intensity, you want to pack on the pigment instead as it stays on your lids better without leaving unnecessary patches. This technique is especially useful if the eyeshadow is of a loose or powdery texture. If you desire more color intensity, use the wet method by wetting your brush either with MAC FIX+ Spray or water.
For those concerned with creasing, Julian suggested to refrain from applying liquid/powder foundation on your lids. When you sweat, it will cause your makeup to run, and that increases the possibility of your eye makeup to crease.
I was slightly disappointed the loose powder wasn't brought in, seeing that they are a close dupe to Guerlain Terracotta Kohl. Thus, I am unable to make a comparison.
The makeup pouch definitely looks friendlier on the eyes compared to the one received at the previous L'OREAL event.
L'OREAL Paris Base Magique
This transforming smoothing primer is equivalent to the smoothing resurfacing primer from Studio Secrets in the U.S.
The primer comes in a thick paste, with its consistency slightly similar to SmashBox primer which I seemed to favor over Maybelline's these days. The blend of silicon oils and soft light powders helps to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, and can be used to fill up pores like a poly-filler. Julian even used this as a eye primer during the makeup demonstration.
High Intensity Pigments (HiP) Shadow Duos
Only 8 shades will be brought into the local market; 7 from the Bright Duo range (Adventurous, Bustling, Flamboyant, Flare, Flashy, Riotous Showy), and 1 Metallic Duo (Platinum).
As I'd previously introduced the HiP range, these highly intense colors are of a micro-pulverized formula with great vibrancy that calls for multiples experimentations. Note how bright the colors pictured above even without using a base.
The accompanying colors in "Adventurous" are aligned with my current neutral phase and the gold and plum shades in "Flamboyant" are my frequent go-to colors.
Upon first impression, Platinum and Magnetic look fairly similar when not compared side-by-side. But as mentioned prior, Magnetic is deceiving - the colors looks different when swatched and as seen in the pan. On the other hand, the silver and shimmery black in Platinum are pretty much straightforward.
HiP Color Chrome Eyeliners
These metallic eyeliners are available in 4 shades: Black Shock, Silver Lightning, Gold Charge and Violet Volt. They glide on skin surface like any liquid liner would perform that gives a chrome finish. The silver can be used to highlight the inner corners of your eyes, and the smooth texture can be blended easily and used as a base for a smoky look.
Singapore is the only Asian country to have the HiP cosmetics range available in the Asia-Pacific region. They will go on sale exclusively at selected Watsons outlets from October 2010, and the products will be limited so do stock up!

I was invited to Tony Moly Media Preview yesterday, held at the Coffee Club @ Marina Square. It was a very casual affair with plenty of goodies to play with.
TomaTox Brightening Mask - S$26.90
This oxygen bubble mask is one of their best-selling products that produce instant whitening results. Containing fresh tomato extracts and herbal ingredients such as sunflower seed extracts and machihyun extracts, it brightens the skin while removing bodily waste from the skin. Can you notice the significant difference on the back of my hand?
Here's a shot of Store Manager, Ryan with his very own Tomato TomaTox~. Say hi should you stop by the shop, and feel free to ask for any product assistance.
Peach Anti-Aging Hand Cream - S$13.90
I'd received this as a gift sometime ago but misplaced it during Spring Cleaning. The quirky peach shaped container comes with a luxurious peach fragrance that leaves a long lasting light yet refreshing smell. The anti-oxidants and moisturizing properties leaves skin all silky and smooth.
Shimmer Lover Cube
Tony Moly's version of the famous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks.
ICE-QUEEN Multi Play Cream SPF30 PA++
This ain't ice cream! It's a makeup base that protects cuts off harmful effects of air pollution and prevents skin irritation, blackheads and acne. It contains the best proportion of amino acids that enhances skin's elasticity.
Backstage Duo Lip & Cheek
Travel-friendly Lip and Cheek tint.
ICE-QUEEN Snow-White Sleeping Cream
The sleeping masks that I own are in gel-form. Tony Moly's version is more of a mousse that spreads easily on the skin.
Fresh Aqua Tear Drop Cream - S$42.90
Shaped like a delicate tear drop, this rich cream stimulates the skin for a firmer and more lifted, this double-duty cream refines the skin, preventing formation of lines and wrinkles and has whitening properties.
Whipping BB Cream
Crystal Tear Glitter Eyeliner
One innovative aspect about Tony Moly is that they aligned accessories with its products in the most interesting way. The handle has a dual function as a brush which makes it fuss-free to bring out for touch-ups.
Tony Moly celebrates its arrival at Marina Square(next to TAG Heuer), today 15th September at 11AM. Be mesmerized by the wide product range and unique packaging, all at an affordable price. Look forward to a thematic series ranging from Valentine's Day to Christmas and Easter.
Do check out the various range of sheet masks that are extremely affordable, particularly the Azone Lip Smile Patch that targets laughing lines. I'm still on the look out for that perfect red lipsticks, and I am still looking! (lol) Besides the bubble mask that comes in a shape of a tomato, look out for the green apples that effectively dead skin cells.
Check out the promotional details on how to get the exclusive Tony Moly bag!
Citrus Juicy Body Wash/Body Mist/ Body Lotion
They resembles my favourite Satsuma body care line from The Face Shop, but lack that strong citrus smell that I like. I am not sure what oranges were used, but they don't smell like the ones I buy from the market.
Dual Effect Sleeping Pack Intense Repair
Another sleeping mask that is more concentrated with whitening and anti-wrinkle functional formulation.
Shiny Foot Peeling Liquid
A special foot mask with skin smoothing and moisturizing properties that comes with 2 socks and 2 packets of liquid. How to use it? Pour the liquid and insert one foot into a sock and leave on for 20 minutes.
So, which product intrigues you?

This morning I headed to Institut Clarins at Wheelock Place for bloggers' party. This marks Clarins' first official contactpoint with beauty bloggers, fully utilizing their motto: Closer to women.
I was the first to arrive, to find that the private party is a tad too intimate as only 4(including myself) were invited. The rest came an hour late, and by the time the 4th blogger arrived, my seat had been warmed for 2 whole hours!
While waiting for the others to arrive, I had plenty of time to venture around the place which appeared to be serene at 12 in the afternoon. Customers started streaming in for treatments two hours later, and I was told that all rooms have been fully booked. That tai-tais must be getting ready for the long weekend, eh?
Our lunch was catered by Goodwood Park. There is a severe lack of photos because the food was too delicious that photography was thrown all the way back to my head! I did snapped a shot of the menu, in case you were wondering about our sumptuous meal.
I did not pay attention to the menu, thus I thought lunch was going be the appetizers (lol) And then the food KEEPS ON COMING! I personally love the creamy soup, and the chocolate cake which reminded me of Ferrero Rocher~.
Every Clarins product is based on the latest scientific advancements and owes its effectiveness to plant extracts. Clarins aspires to bring women, as well as men, closer to nature through their plant-based products and treatments. Therefore, juices, herbal and fruit tea are being served everyday for customers and guests at the beauty institute.
Clarins Research Labs are constantly in search of the best Plant-extracting techniques, and has established links with a network of ethnobotanists

Beauty specialists will give a complimentary personal skin evaluation and prescribe the perfect regime with samples customised to your skin's needs. Do not be afraid to ask for samples, and Clarins have a "Try Before You Buy" philosophy to ensure each of their customer's satisfacion is guaranteed.
Besides showcasing their latest best-selling product, the Facial Shaping Lift and their exclusive Auto-Lifting Method, their upcoming Autumn Make-Up Collection was also introduced.
The swatching aftermath of their True-Hold Colour & Shine lipsticks.
I will introduce the Rouge Prodige Make-Up collection, and also a more precise illustration of the Auto-Lifting Method in my next post. The exercise helps drain the lymp nodes and therefore, this line-control, anti-age skincare routine can be used with ANY product.
A big Thank You and Congratulations to Brenda, Jasmine and Joanne on making this first-ever Clarins bloggers' party a success. I look forward to meeting you ladies again~.

I was in attendance as a VIP guest at the Singapore International Jewellery Show 2010(SIJS) yesterday, thanks to the lovely Sharon for the invite. The galore of jewllery exhibitions from all around the world was held at the newly-opened Marina Bay Sands, which also houses our first Casino. Only local residents are required to pay a $100 levy before entering the "gambling den" which is valid for 24 hours, FYI.
A 15-min fashion show featuring new collections from Lee Hwa Jewellery was showcased, but I wasn't quick enough to get clear photos (lol). After that we headed to a tea party and ended up with only a cup of hot beverage. The organizers had food catering to 60 people and even though the arena wasn't fully packed, the food was snapped up swiftly. Sharon and I went to queue up for bird's nest sponsored by Brands, and it so happened that we got the last 2 bottles for the day! My phone, for some unknown reason did not save the precious shot. BAH!
VIP guests were gifted with a pendant(worth $128) and a $100 voucher each. There is an informative booklet that educates on what how diamonds are selected and cut to become a Destinée - a Lee Hwa Jewellery signature.
SIJS will be held till August 1st, which is tomorrow. So head on down with your significant other, if you want a DIAMOND~.
A Skin79 event was held later that evening at The Icing Room, held @ 313 Somerset. I will be reviewing the Oriental BB cream & eye cream very soon, so stay tuned. This Korean brand prided themselves as the Queen of BB Creams, and leads the pack with their best-selling BB creams (acronym of Beblesh Balm, which was formerly used as a skin protection cream after skincare cosmetic surgeries.)
Yesterday evening, bloggers were introduced to another of their popular ranges - The Diamond Collection I & II. If you desire for a little diamond shine in your complexion, this is the one for you!
The Diamond Collections all contain Diamond Powder and Jewel Complex Powder of ruby, amethyst, coral and tourmalin and pearl, combined with skincare properties to create flawless complexion. You might ask, why split into 2 separate collections? Well, the 2nd collection contains an upgraded formula with Flora Bouquet Complex & Blooming Jewel Complex that makes the skin shimmer and shine like jewellery.
Functions of the key ingredients:
Diamond Powder: Radiance and Shimmer
Amethyst: Keeps skin clean & healthy with astringent & soothing agent.
Pearl: Hydrates & revitalizes dull complexion
Tourmaline: Keeps skin healthy & resilient by promoting blood circulation in skin.
Coral: Keeps skin sleek & moisturized by maintaining the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance.
Ruby: Improves skin softness & elasticity
Co-enzyme Q10: Boost skin repair & regeneration, protects from external aggressions
Adenosine & Arbutin: Visible skin whitening effect & wrinkle improvement, brighten the skin & enhance skin elasticity.
The Prestige Beblesh Balm
Triple functions: Whitening, Wrinkle Improvement, SPF25 PA++. Excellent nourishment with the premium skincare effects of diamond, jewels and peptide MX complexes which keeps skin looking smooth and bright.
Perfect Cover BB Concealer
This dual colour BB concealer with light powder particles with superior adherence properties not only naturally covers skin imperfections but also provides natural coverage to dark under-eye areas.
This concealer is a powder-to-cream formula and blending is a breeze. It managed to cover the oxidised foundation swatched earlier at another store.
Star Glow Ball Powder
The shimmer of the 5-colored refined and luxurious ball powder adheres lightly to the face to present a lively and bright skin tone while adding an alluring dimensionality.
It reminds one of Guerlain's Meteorites, right? I meant to get this 2 weeks ago, but there was only 3 BALLS in the tester! Darn itchy fingers (lol)
Crystal Pearl BB Cream
This pearl BB cream gives radiance and gloss to the skin, while adding a three-dimensional effect in accordance with light angles. The built in dual type pearl highlight adds radiance and facial contour.
All-Day Sun Powder SPF30 PA++
The fine powder adheres lightly to the skin to keep the skin feeling soft all day, while providing the easy and convenient blocking of both UV A and B rays. Unlike sunscreens, this can be reapplied frequently, leaving a soft and light feeling.
Porous Powder: Excellent sebum control
UV Perfect BB Pact
Transparent and luxurious look, this sunscreen pact contains mistletoe extracts that help maintain soft, fresh, shine-free complexion.
For complete UV protection, touch up frequently instead of one time application. This pact is slim and easy to carry around wherever you go.
Before the session ended, we each decorate a cupcake and mine was named "Flowers on the Rock."
SKIN79 has just been awarded the Best Newcomer (BB Cream) award at the Watson's Annual MOST WANTED Health, Wellness and Beauty Award 2010. To celebrate, check out the SKIN79 counters at all Watsons from now till 25th August!

Along with some bloggers, I had attended a discussion group at The Coffee Connoisseur last week. This time it was neither skincare nor makeup products.
I ordered a Blue Mountain coffee, for I have always wanted to try this. Boy, was I DISAPPOINTED! No offense to those who love this, it smelled good but tasted like carbon dioxide emitted from a car's exhaust pipe :X
No amount of sugar nor milk could help sweeten the situation, but I did enjoy the hazelnut cookies. It even had raisins in it~.
Anyway, the objective of the meeting was regarding the BAWANG products, proudly endorsed by Jackie Chan. If you have no idea who he is, go bang yourself against the walk. Just joking, but seriously, how could you not know who he is?! Not to mention, the heavy advertising of Jackie brushing his hair on television everyday.
All products are formulated and manufactured by BAWANG International Scientific Research Centre, China's foremost centre for Trichology research. In a nutshell, the ingredients are derived from traditional Chinese herbal formula ginseng, ling zhi etc thus it will have some rich herbal scent instead of fragrances/parfums. They are suitable for all hair types, all age groups, including young women with colored/permed/rebonded hair.
If you have been reading the papers, a particular HK tabloid magazine -renowed for fabricating shameless stories in a bid to sell their publication- started a rumour that BAWANG products contain cancerious ingredients. The malicious defaming article caused an uproar in Hong Kong, but the case has since been put at rest after the haircare company submitted their products for testing and HAVE PROVEN OTHERWISE.
BAWANG International has always strictly followed the State’s laws & regulations in their product development, production process and sales efforts. With regards to this incident, there is no doubt that BAWANG shampoo has passed SFDA’s inspection with flying colors as it is certified to contain a 1,4-Dioxane level far lower than the lowest safety requirement of any health organization in the world, including EU and the United States FDA. As such, the reports have stated BAWANG shampoos to be safe for consumer use as it poses no threat whatsoever to consumer health.
Most importantly, take note and beware of imitation products, for they may do MORE HARM to your body. Always look out for official seals, such as the one above, that have been approved by the authorities.
Now let's get down to the reviews. I was told that these shampoos are suitable for daily use and will not dry out your hair.
Tea-seed Itch Relief Shampoo
Contains a special blend of precious herbal formula extracts such as Tea-seed, Ginger & Chamomile. It helps to maintain hair's healthy oil balance, relieves itchy or flaking scalp, and retains moisture while keeping it glossy & dandruff-free.
Enriched with various Chinese herbal extracts including Chinese Honey Locust, Aloe, Honeysuckle and Mint, this product cleans & protects the hair, to help reduce extra sebum & prevent dandruff, effectively relieving itch.
Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo + Conditioner
Its unique TCH formula enriched with various Chinese herbal extracts including Chinese Arborvitae Leaf, Ginseng & Ginger, this product mildly soothes the scalp and solidifies hair root to reduce hair breakage.
I first tried the Tea-seed itch relieve shampoo, and it totally dried out my hair. Initally my thoughts were that my hair was just getting used to the herbal formula but I experienced the same thing with the anti-dandruff shampoo. So I didn't have much faith when the time came to try out the anti-hair fall shampoo. Suffice to say, it wasn't as drying as the first 2 products, but I wasn't seeing the "light" either. But then... I started to see it, when I used the conditioner. My hair felt silky the moment I washed it off! =D
The conditioner contains Chinese Arborvitae leaf, Ginseng & Ginger. It strengthens the hair follicle and solidifies hair root. Though it didn't manage to tackle the frizzles in my hair, but it tames down the dryness, especially the dry ends of my hair. I will definitely purchase this conditioner when my supply runs out.
The herbal smell of the products wasn't overwhelming as I had thought out to be, and that is the general conception which many of my friends agree.
If you are keen to try out their products, Fr3b is giving away 2 packs of sample kits to each reader. Limited to Singaporeans only, sorry!
BAWANG has signed on a new spokesperson none other than the reclusive Faye Wong! Do know that both Jackie & Faye don't endorse products easily.
The new range of products will cater for those concerned with Frizzy & Dry Hair, Itchy & Dandruff Prone Scalp, Oily Hair and also for those who wish to Strengthen & Thicken their manes. They will be available officially from August, but now can be found at selected stores.

I was in attendance at another bloggers event, held at the Grand Park Hotel on Tuesday. Comic-Con is currently ongoing in the US(Bruce Campbell will be there!!), and here we have a mini beauty bloggers convention. Sort-of.
We had our moisture level taken, and mine was 4 points above the standard 70. I was surprised to find many bloggers were between the 20-40 range. Evidently, sleeping with the fan has its perks. Many thought I was cuckoo for sleeping without the AC under the Singapore weather. Who's laughing now?
My moisture level indicated how well hydrated my skin is, but if you fall below the standard range, don't fret. Here comes Physiogel to the rescue!
Repair, Rehydrate, Revitalised.
Clinically proven to restore moisture and repairs the skin's natural protective barrier, Physiogel is ideal for those suffering from dry, sensitive and damaged skin. Their unique formula contains no colourants, perfume and preservatives to enhance its hypoallergenic effect.
Physiogel prides itself with the innovative Derma Membrane Structure (DMS) technology that contains ceramides and other physiological lipids that mimic the lipids found within your skin. What DMS mainly does is repair dehydrated skin naturally, reliving itch and dryness. It already rehydrates the skin, locking in moisture for up to 3 days. This technology also revitalises the skin and keeps it healthy.
Ceramides are often found in high-end products (e.g. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect skincare range) but now they can be readily available in Physiogel products at a more reasonable price. Head on down to the nearest pharmacy, Watsons or Guardians to check out the different range of skincare, bodycare & haircare products.
Besides the usual talk, there was an interactive FAQ session but I wouldn't count on it as fair game (lol) Each blogger also had their pictures taken like a "star." I seriously need to find a good angle for my face, it looks like a fishball. SO ROUND!!! T-T
Yes, I even brought home a bottle of mineral(?) water, but hey, the main idea is to hydrate yourself so don't laugh!
So far I've tried the Cream and Lotion which held up pretty well. Non-greasy and they sink into your skin so quickly! The best thing is I won't have to blot excess oil on my face during the daytime. It's too quick to judge though, since Singapore has been raining cats and dogs recently.
Originally I had a line-up of post entries for this week but I have been out of the house almost everyday. Have you seen INCEPTION yet? It's REALLY GOOD, though not the best I'd expected from Christopher Nolan, but it is the best film, so far that I have seen this year.
Stay tuned for a GIVEAWAY and a "POPPING" entry coming soon☆

Last weekend, I was invited to a bloggers' session kindly sponsored by SANA, which ended up to be a 4-hour chatty afternoon. Most of the conversation had nothing to do with skincare nor the products we were to be introduced that day (lol)
SANA has a range of skincare products formulated for those plagued by sensitive skin. As pilling on numerous products will only worsen your skin condition, it is best to keep your skincare regime SIMPLE. UV care also plays a pivotal role in your rountine, so never neglect your sunscreen products.
SANA's Natural Resource products contains geranium, lavender, rosewood, bergamote and grapefruit. The Japanese believes that aromatherapy relaxes your skin with such natural ingredients and helps to calm your mind, something that ladies living in the cities urgently require.
Note: These products are suitable for all skin types.
I am a fan of foamy cleanser, but how many of you really get in there and create a whipped cream consistency? It proves to be the most effective way of cleansing, which explains why Japanese women have the best skin. Foam cleansers have been a staple in Japanese culture, in the form of a bar soap. These ladies really have the patience to use a sponge and rub into the soap to create foams.
There is another type of cleanser - Washing Foam - that has a deeper concentration in purifying acne-proned & sensitive skin. This proves to be fun as you can create whipped-cream foam mentioned above, provided that you have loads of extra time (lol)
This mild remover strips off makeup while retaining skin's natural oils. This feels a lot lighter than the Shiseido Deep Cleansing Oil which I've been using for years.
Skin Lotion, Essence Lotion, Milk Lotion
To the Japanese, toners are known as softeners/skin lotions. Their purpose is to replenish lost moisture from cleansing, and the aromatherapy effect helps to comfort the skin. One great tip to make the most out the product in the Nihon way - multiply your age by 3(or 4, I don't remember), then pat your face gently.
I was informed that the essence lotion is not required for daily usage, however it is recommended on days when your skin feels exceptionally dehydrated.
The third step after cleansing is moisturizing. The milky solution is lightweight in texture and doesn't leave a sticky feel afterwards.
Cream, Moist Skin Care Powder
So after going about your daily regime, the next step is to lock up all ingredients that your skin has been absorbing. These 2 products are recommended for nighttime use, as your skin goes through renewal and repair while you sleep. The cream has a thicky consistency as it acts as a layer to prevent moisture loss when we are in snoozing mode.
I have been using ZA's vitamin powder for 2 years and the Moist Skin Care Powder does the same trick in absorbing excess sebum and keeps your skin matte, sealing in everything you have applied earlier. Sounds familiar, huh? This can be a good alternative for loose powder.
Powder Foundation, Protective Powder, Spots Cover
The powder foundation comes in 4 shades(mine's in 02) and it's formulated for those with normal to oily skin types. Comes with SPF26PA++ and has a light feeling with fine-texture finish.
The compact powder & concealer are tailored for acne skin types that covers any imperfections for a luminous, beautiful skin.
Loose powder, Liquid Foundation, Treatment Base
The loose powder has a translucent, fine texture and comes with SPF19 PA++.
SANA's treatment foundation has a superior moisturizing and covering qualities, and comes in 4 shades (mine's 02) with SPF22 PA+++
For those concerned with uneven pigmentation, Natural Resource has a treatment base that covers discolorations and provides UV protection with SPF18 PA++
The above 3 products contain Rose Water that are distilled and extracted from flowers reputed to have the sweetest aroma.
I will review each product in detail, so stay tuned. Thanks for reading!

Some of you might have recalled that I had attended a Hada Labo focus group back in March. And someone feedback to me a while ago that they had learned of the brand's impending launch through my blog. I thank you for reading, and do continue to email me if you have any queries. =)
This afternoon, I attended yet another session which focused on the same product - Hyaluronic Lotion. The two-and-a-half-hour discussion, which took place this time at the White Dog Cafe, was consisted with the same questions asked earlier this year: What is your beauty regime? What do you think of the tag line for the product advertisment? ("One drop locks up an ocean" - 4 months ago I'd thought the line was cheesy and I still stand by that lol)
One significant difference was, now that the range of products have been launched, what do we think of the marketing campaign? Is the advertising eye-catching?
At the end of the session, each participant was given a box consisting of 4 hydrating masks. While I may have changed my view of the Lotion which I will re-visit my review in a later post, my opinion towards this mask remains the same - sticky and unabsorbable for my combination skin. To be fair, I will do a 2nd review~.
We were also given a sample size of Sun Play Powdery White Sunscreen. The one depicted in the photo above is the full-retailed size; the one that was given to me today, I have passed it on to a new friend to try it out☆
I really love the milky, whitish solution, as it not only protects you from harmful UV rays, the sunscreen lotion also makes me ~fairer~
Thank you for reading, and hope everyone will have a nice weekend. I have good things to announce next week, so be sure to bookmark my blog and come back soon! (^-^)v

Thursday I attended yet another event, this time a preview held at Shiseido HQ, before the official launch of AQUALABEL later this month. I apologized for the lack of pictures from that nightbecause my old phone failed to capture anything with a clearresolution, as the lighting was really dim in the presentation room.Notice that I said the word "old." Yesterday I attended another Benefit bloggers' event, held at the Sephora Beauty Bar located at Ion Orchard. Being anal about punctuality, I was the first to turn up (lol) I had the chance to browse through the products, and have set my mind on quite a few. But more on that later.
It was great to see the lovely PR ladies Daphne & Catherine and Amy who did my makeup at the previous event. Not forgetting the "new guy" Jonathan.
As Benefit's Brow Queen Hilary Foote sy, "No matter what's going on, women want to look and feel beautiful." With 30 years of brows-shaping experience, the San Francisco-based company opened its first Brow Bar in 2003. At current count, there's more than 500 bars waxing women worldwide, whether it's a need for a brow arch, tweeze or mini makeover.
2 Brow Experts each wth over 10 years of experience at creating beautiful brow arches, Maki Ho & Wing Wu flew in from Hong Kong to conduct the workshop, and shared with us ways on how to achieve the perfect eyebrow shape and make your brows look groomed and fabulous. Did you know that the thicker your brows are, the chances of marrying a rich husband are higher? Σ(ﾟー^*)
Bloggers in attendance were treated to a "Wow Your Brows" session. I was led to their Brow Bar, and each session lasted around 15 minutes. The standard procedure is to sign a Release Form, acknowledged that you're not using any stated eye treatment prior. All customers will be given a slip of pre/post-waxing tips, so do remember to prompt for one should you not receive any.
I am really happy with the shape my brows were given, they are very close to my natural arch. Trust me, the WAXING was painful and will not send you shrieking like that 40 Year Old Virgin... ( ＾ω＾)
Benefit's Brow Bars are available at Sephora Ion (6509 8254 ext. 111) and TANGS Orchard (6235 5953)
brow arch - $22
brow & lip - $ 31
chin & lip - $25
chin - $17
lip - $16
brow arch "buy 3 get 1 free" package - $65
brow arch "buy 5 get 2 free" package - $110
brow + lip "buy 3 get 1 free" package - $93
brow + lip "buy 5 get 2 free" package - $155
In my BeneGoodie Bag:
- "Brow Bar: Drop in Now..." badge
- Brows A-Go-Go - brow and eye shaping kit
- Lust Duster in jelly roll (icy lilac) - shimmering loose powder for eyes & face
I was complimented on how "clean & neat" my brows were, big props to Mel Phua☆ As mentioned earlier, I reached the venue first and took my time browsing through the Benefit products. She walked over to offer her assistance and I churned out loads of questions with her answering each and every one of them with patience. She also shared some beauty tips, like advising me to try concealing with a brush which I did today. Wow, her method really worked! During the workshop, she came out of nowhere and helped me with my brows and did my waxing too. Very swift work, I must say. She did not make me feel intimidated in any way, unlike many other BAs I've come across. If you ask me, she needs a raise~.
If you're considering to get your brows groomed, head down to TANGS where Mel will be stationed. Remember to mention me, Joyce September, as your referral.

Over the weekend, I was in attendance at the exclusive Elizabeth Arden 100th Anniversary tea party at a tea cafe. Tea Bone Zen Mind (38A Seah St) is situated a stone throw from Raffles Hotel. This iconic establishment reminded me of the late Michael Jackson who insisted on staying there everytime he visits Singapore. I was exhausted that day, having misread a train bound for Pasir Ris as "Paris;" and Raffles Creamery as "Cemetery." (TωT)
Anyway, I met up with Sarah, and made our way to the venue. After walking up the Exorcist stairways and into the cafe, we felt as if we're transported into another place. The cafe had an European feel to it, but serves an Asian fusion of snacks and drinks. I ordered Pear Tea which wasn't as impressive as the one I tasted at Arteastique 2 months ago. The cakes were delicious, but I kept going for the sausages(lol)
It was a cozy, intimate affair with a total of 10 ladies in attendance, tucked in a corner of the cafe talking excitedly and going gaga over the range of goodies that were launched in celebration of its 100th Anniversary. Come to think of it, no one thought of putting candles and sing "Happy Birthday."

Each blogger walked home with these exclusive premiums, plus a surprise gift!
Everyone got something different, I received the Pretty Eau de Parfum Spray!!
You can be sure that I'll be wearing this MORE OFTEN than the Green Tea Lavender (lol) I'm not really a fragrance person but I really like this spirited floral scent that gives off this refreshing feeling.
I love the slogan that comes with it: Every day, everywhere. Every woman wants to feel pretty. Having wore it 2 days straight, it makes me feel P-R-E-T-T-Y! So if you happen to spot me, come and take a sniff! σ(^。^;
Elizabeth Arden Singapore is generous enough to offer this lip protectant to my readers (Yes, that's you!). So look out for another exciting giveaway!!
I am dying to get another sniff of the Red Door scent, it smells so heavenly~.

On Thursday I attended yet another bloggers' workshop, this time for Skin79. The popularity of this top Korean BB Cream brand has been on the rise in recent years - in its native country, Hong Kong, Taiwan and has recently made its way to Singapore.
The event was held at Pink Parlour, where we got a pedicure treat while listening to the introduction of the brand's Oriental range of products, which caters to mature skin.
I did not show my pedicured feet; I do not like my feet :X
But I'd chosen a Bordeaux color with glittery french tips☆
The Oriental range is suitable for mature and dry/combination skin in dire need of moisture and nourishment, the prowess of The Oriental range lies in repairing damaged skin and improving the appearance of wrinkles. Every product contains caviar, which intensely nourishes skin.
This is the only Skin79 line that is fortified with white tea, green tea and black tea. These 3 ingredients contains powerful anti-oxidant properties which are highly effective at repairing skin, improving its natural defenses, and reducing damage caused by too much sun exposure. Together, they are a powerful yet safe concoction to restore youth to the skin.
The Oriental Gold BB Cream (S$49.90)
Ideal for dry/combination skin that needs whitening and wrinkle improvement, this product replenishes skin's much needed moisture and nutrients to keep it baby-smooth and flawless. A multitasker that packs 10 beauty benefits in a jar, this also comes with a lip and cheek cream in dusty rose.
- GOLD extracts not only restore skin's healthy glow, thanks to their inherent illuminating properties, but also improve blood circulation, as well as skin elasticity and firmness.
- CAVIAR contains proteins, minerals and key vitamins to intensely nourish, hydrate and prompt cellular regerneration.
- ADENOSINE & ARBUTIN penetrate deeply to whiten, brighten, iron out wrinkles and improve skin elasticity.
- SPF 25 PA++ protects the skin against UVA and UVB rays, which burn the skin, cause premature aging and contribute to cancer.
If you do not know already, BB Cream is also known as Blemish Balm that is known to have been formulated as an after-treatment to help patients who have gone through laser skin surgery to soothe and regenerate the skin.
The texture is light-weight and gives an even & natural-looking coverage that evens out my skin tone. It has excellent serum control that doesn't requires me to blot my face under the hot weather! I don't like the dispenser, it's hard to control the amount of product and I often pump out more than I need...
I was sold the moment I found out that it comes with a lip & cheek tint. The dusty rose shade gives you that natural, rosy cheeks and it is a breeze to blend it onto your skin.
The Oriental Lifting Eye Controller (S$26.90)
Intensely nourishing and moisturizing, this eye cream keeps the skin around your eyes firm and wrinkle-free - a vital sign of youth in any culture. It also has a handy applicator top that delivers the formula right onto the delicate eye area. Suitable for all skin types.
- CAVIAR contains proteins, minerals and key vitamins to intensely nourish, hydrate and prompt cellular regerneration.
- JOJOBA OIL retains water loss, and enhances skin suppleness, making it useful for treating crow's feet, wrinkles and dry skin.
- ADENOSINE boosts skin's natural production of both collagen and elastin, proteins that reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
I have droopy eyes, so this product comes in handy with is lifting properties. The cream is moisturizing, and leaves my eyes with a feeling of softness by offering hydrating effect.

Last weekend I was in attendance at L'OREAL's first-ever bloggers' gathering, at Fika which is a Swedish bistro. As you can tell, the food was delicious, although I hated that the potatoes were too hard for my liking. I was too infatuated with the desserts that I completely forgot to snap shots (lol) The Apple Crumble was delicious, but my favourite was the brownies!!!
It was fun to see familiar faces at the lunch party, and also meet new ones. If you ever want to go back there, ring me up! o(^-^)o
The event was held to introduce the Open Eyes Chrome Intensity eyeshadow palettes, inspired by the shimmering hues of the butterfly. These four-colour eyeshadow palettes will start you off on a journey of metamorphosis. Each comes in breathtaking shades of either Blue (Aquadisiac), Green (Timeless Green), Pink (Pink Mania) or Yellow (Magic Amber).
Yesterday I had briefly introduced the Green palette, which is absolutely lovely, and the colors are very pigmented.
Inside the goodie bag:
- Open Eyes Chrome Intensity eyeshadow palettes in Timeless Green and Magic Amber
- Super Liner 24H Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Black
- Color Riche Made for Me Lipstick in Intense Fushia and Burning Rose
- Ultra - Volume Collagene mascara
Ultra - Volume Collagene
This mascara is designed to boost volume in Asian lashes with a Hydra-Collagen complex with collagen and hyalyronic acid to boost volume and retain water for plumper lashes. Collagen in your lashes, are you intrigued already?
The mascara comes in a huge brush that fattens up your lashes, keeping them looking plump and visible. Also, the long bristles enhances my lower lashes without too much effort. The formula is smudge-free, which is a must-buy considering I had it on for 6 hours earlier this week, and I didn't even look like a panda! Plus, it didn't take much effort to remove it too.
Color Riche Made for Me Lipstick
These range of lipstick is enriched with a combination of Omega-3 oils, and Vitamin E that helps to protect your lips from drying. It has a soft and creamy texture which leaves lips feeling moisturized, smooth with a stunning finish. Each lip shade has been expertly designed to suit every woman's natural coloring from blondes to brunettes and fair to dark skin tones, each has their choice of shades for the perfect match.
I've got Intense Fushia which is designed for ladies with Rose skin tone(if you have dark hair, blue eyes and very pale skin) and Burning Rose caters for those with Golden Fair skin tone.
Open Eyes Chrome Intensity
The collection is formulated with Pure Refined Micro-Pigments that delivers a highly pearlised finish. According to the description, one application is all it takes for iridescent color to stay on throughout the day. Unfortunately, the eyeshadows creased on me 6 hours later.
Super Liner 24H Waterproof Gel Eyeliner
This gel eyeliner promises a smooth, creamy texture which makes it easy to swipe across your lids, with the brush that comes along with it. It comes in the form of a waterproof formula that claims to provide up to 24 hours of wear.
I haven't give this a test-drive yet so will post up a review later. A swatch of the product is enough to impress me; when compared with the Maybelline gel-liner which I've been using for close to a year now, the L'OREAL one has a smoother application and not as drying as the liner by Maybelline.
And I managed to remove the cover from the Elizabeth Arden brush (lol) The synthetic brush is firm that gives me perfect control to apply on the gel-liner. However is not recommended for those with bulky hands because it is so petite - shortest handle out of the trio!
The GIVEAWAY is still ongoing until July 11th, 2010!!
Also, there will be an Elizabeth Arden warehouse sale tomorrow! WHO IS GOING?!?!

I attended the Benefit Bloggers' Party on Thursday, and had a blast with the invited ladies. So much laughter and gossip about Takuya Kimura(Sesame's favourite Japanese hunk)
We were treated to some sweet foodies but this one... I'm not too sure what it was. I think it's raw salmon... not daring to throw it away, I swallowed it down... *GAG*
I was grabbed to be the model of the makeup demonstration, hence all my makeup were stripped off. I stood 'naked' at the counter for almost 30mins, waiting for other bloggers to arrive. Seriously, be punctual next time! If you can't make it, please inform beforehand.
(The pictures above were taken by Sesame.)
Pardon my horrible naked face! I went for a facial the day before, and those nasty pimples are taking their own sweet time to heal F!@#$%^&
Dissecting the goodie bag: (clockwise)
- Firmology toning & smoothing serum for face & neck
- Do It daily! oil-free moisturizing lotion SPF 10
- Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in R.S.V.P.
- Laugh with me Lee Lee
- Erase Paste brightening camouflage for eyes & face
- High Beam
- That Gal brightening face primer
R.S.V.P. is of a sparkling champagne shade, this flattering color works perfect as a neutral eyeshadow base and it's so creamy in texture.
After the demonstration, the bloggers had fun decorating cupcakes, while I stayed back to complete my makeover. It was a pity that I wasn't able to dress up as a Benefit Sugarbomb babe though~ No pictures of the makeover. It was night time by the time I got home, so couldn't get a clear shot :(
Look at Milo using the cutesy headband as its collar. Everytime I put it on, he stood still as a statue, like he's been petrified!
I remember someone had a dilemma deciding what to get - Moon Beam or High Beam. The makeup artist said that the Moon Beam highlighter is more suitable for those with darker skintone, while the latter caters more to ladies with fairer skin.
