From L’Oreal’s website:
Discover the secret for bold, metallic color with a luminous finish. The rich, super-blendable color glides on evenly for hours of captivating, crease-resistant wear.
The Hip Intensity Pigment makeup range consists of eyeshadows, eyeliners, mascara and glosses. Singaporean beauty junkies, STAY ALERT! This popular offer of intense color options at an affordable price tag will be launched ivery soon, but at the moment there's no mention on what will be available yet.
Among the 5 different HiP Bright, Crystal, Metallic, Concentrated and Matte eyeshadow duos, let me introduce you to MAGNETIC from the Metallic range:
L'Oréal HiP Metallic Shadow Duo - Magnetic
When I swatched the colors, the intensity appeared strong on my fingertips. Swiping the icy blue shade was a breeze but the darker one proved a challenge. Much of the pigments were wasted, as most remained on my fingers. The navy blue has a more drier formula and I had problem getting it to showed up without using a base.
Using NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as base, the icy blue showed up really vibrant compared to the one on the left, which looked like a dull grey. I was amazed when I saw the huge color difference - the darker shade looked murky-black without base, but once layered with the creamy Milk, the color looked exactly what you see in the pan. Navy, smoky blue with subtle sheen.
I managed to get good lighting this afternoon, but as I was only out for a short errand aka satisfy food craving, I didn't bother to use a primer. I used a kohl pencil as base but the formula was too dry to get the intensity out of the navy blue. There was no creasing under the hot weather, and the eye makeup looked the same three hours prior. I'll probably do another EOTD, this time using Milk as base.
No thanks to a particular range of skincare products which caused quite a severe irritation, I'm so glad my skin has finally calmed down after giving me grief in the last month. HALLELUJAH!
Another reason to be happy, Milo will turn ONE in less than an hour. No one should call him baby anymore! I've got nothing planned for him, except to give him more attention than usual. Expect to see more scratches on my poor pins, I tell you! >.<

NUXE Aux 3 Roses Floral Toning Lotion
Alcohol-free, this toner containing natural ingredients such as witch hazel, rose and camomile, is said to help reduce fatigueness. Suitable for all skin types, this is meant to soothe, refresh and remove any last traces of makeup after cleansing.
I had purchased this back in March, and the floral scent is somewhat subjective as I tend to find it overwhelming at times. It is generously sized, at a reasonable price. Aux 3 Roses is supposed to vitalise and leave and leave the skin perfectly spotless, but um... it's just a toner.
It preps the face just fine before applying serum and moisture but what irritates me is the high content of glycol and glycerin among the ingredients. The toner takes a while to absorb, and given the stickiness from those two top ingredients, it can be annoying. I tend to get caught up with my typing and would lose track so by the time the product sets in, it would cause my combination skin to be extra greasy together with the excess sebum.
Clearly this is more suitable for those with dry skin but due to the sticky nature, it works as an excellent adhesive. I have always used toners in place of water, to mix in with powder-form masks. While water tends to make the solution runny, toners generally contain glycerin, hence they are able to stay on your face without dripping excess liquid all over your clothes.
Given the 200ml amount, this toner can last a pretty long time. Thankfully, I did not experience any breakouts nor redness, but I will not re-purchase again.
So I wasn't feeling well yesterday, look what Milo did to cheer me up...
"Sista, no ears!"

Milo will be turning ONE on September 1st, and I still have no idea what treats to get for him!! Thankfully he is illiterate or else he'll be spoilt just by looking at the menu alone (lol)
The prices seem reasonable enough, but I am not getting him a birthday cake. He hasn't been eating much, probably because we call him Garfield all the time, and dogs don't like to be compared with a cat. A fat orange cat too.
Anyway I'm targeting the cookies, those that can be kept for days. The pretzels and honey bears are making me drool already!! There's even doggie Bak Kwa, how cute is that? I'll probably go gaga myself when I make the trip down to the bakery.
It's currently the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar aka Hungry Ghosts Month. Mum insisted Milo to stay home for an entire month so the ASSBUTT has been spending his mornings and afternoons sleeping away... Whenever he decides to rest right outside my room, he signals his presence by "banging" his butt against the door.
Can anyone confirm that dogs go on eating hiatus every once in a while? Milo doesn't seem to eat as often these days, and I even have to sit and feed him by hand. That cannot do and I don't want to make it a habit. Thanks in advance!

You might recall my displeasure with the malfunction of the widely-raved Urban Decay Primer Potion. This morning I was replying an email and the subject of eye primers was brought up. Ever since I had depotted the UDPP, it kinda dried up and there's difficulty 'heating' the formula with my fingers before applying on my lids. Worst, it had a part in the constant creasing nor do I see a vibrant turnout. BOO!
She suggested Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer which I had intended to try out but often crossed my mind. So earlier today I deliberately took a different path and walked straight into the store, and stopped right where the primer is placed. To my disappointment, the freaking thing was all dried up! I scooped up whatever is available but it's still dry like my sense of humor. In the end I just walked out without doing that "eye straying" thing that we girls tend to do (lol)
I headed over to Sephora to check out the "Tricks of the Trade" collection for the third time in two weeks. There weren't much favourable reviews for the Anti-Shine primer, and most were speaking about the product's disagreement with oily skin. I don't like its runny texture either, so I'll give it a miss. And then I spotted the Eye Primer which looked like a worthy candidate until...
No doubt that the product is cream and the eye color showed up really vibrant but the brown cast left by the primer puts me off. I don't think it will look noticable for those with medium or darker skin tones, but I won't want to use this should I choose to go "princessy" with pastel colors.
One BA came over and handed me samples of the Smoothing Primer. According to her, this primer is often sold-out, hence I have no chance to get a feel of the texture. I mentioned of the resemblance with Smashbox Photo Finish primer, one I had fallen in love at first sight some months ago. I love the velvety feel of it and is able to keep my makeup oil-free and fresh for many hours.
Fortunately, her friendliness compensated her inability to answer about the texture. Sigh, I'll give it a test-drive soon so stay tuned~.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Ever since UDPP failed on me, this has constantly popped to mind but I never really got to give it an actual try until today. According to its description, this is a full-coverage insurance policy against all fading, creasing yada yada eyeshadow accidents. It is a silicone-based and is about to even out any discoloration on your lids and its ability to smooth lines... really? I have yet to give it a try so can't vouch for any of its promises, but the smoothing lines part sounds intriguing enough.
On my way to lunch with a friend, I spotted an outdoor counter promoting Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci. Composed of rhubarb, bergamot, moonflower, Indian tuberose, centifolia rose, patchouli and sandalwood, it is packaged for glamorous and urban heroines. It was alluring and the bottle with its ribbon-like cap is gorgeous.
I actually preferred her other fragrance, Nina, and the advertisement reminded me of the late Ruslana Korshunova. Known as the Russian Rapunzel for her long-spinning hair, her promising career came to halt when she took the plunge from her New York Apartment 2 years ago... Anyway, I love the apple-shaped bottle, but don't remember the scent. My nosebrain has a short-term memory, thus I can never differentiate the many fragrances.
I rarely venture to Sephora unless there is a need to get something but most of the time I ended up getting nothing. Anyway, I was at the Takashimya outlet and the male BAs were really friendly. They were trying to promote various fragrances and the three guys on duty today were kinda hot but not my cup of tea. Too boyish~.
On my way out after making my purchase, I stopped briefly to look at the parfums and one cutie immediately stopped whatever he was doing and started to hand me samples of various fragrances. Out of the many, my nose was particularly attracted to Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy.
The fruity scent struck close to home, for it is a reminisce of Morgan Love Love de Toi, gotten some years ago. To think I've totally forgotten about it, Gomenasai!!!
Elizabeth Arden Pretty is my current favourite. It is a departure from my preference for cutie scents for this is more floral with a sharp tinge of citrus which is hard to detect unless you read the content of ingredients which includes italian mandarin and orange blossom. Besides, wearing this boosts your self-confidence -psychologically- by making you feel PRETTY (lol)

MAC FIX+ Skin Refresher/Finishing Mist
An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!
After much consideration, I'd decided to purchase after reading many raves for its various methods of usage and moisturizing properties. Unfortunately I wasn't given any advice upon the usage of the product from the BAs while at the store. Thankfully for the endless tips laid out via the Web, there is no need to be under scrutiny of the BAs with their condescending attitudes. Can we vote to have robots stationed at the service line?
There are many uses for FIX+ - Some spritz it on their faces to soften the skin and allows the emulsion to sink in faster. I only do this when my skin needs the extra hydration from Glycerin, a substance that preserves the moisture or water content of the skin. Most skincare products contain glycerin for moisturizing purposes, but some people might experience break outs, so take heed.
It is recommended to spray at arm's length with slight pressure on the nozzle, for a refreshing feel on the skin. Overdoing it will result in a sticky face due to excess glycerin. Often used as a finishing mist to set your makeup and achieve that dewy finish, it fails to do so and cakes up my face instead! I spritz it on my makeup sponge instead of water, or brushes before dipping in liquid foundation/BB cream for easier blending although I don't find the results any different nor better.
Now what I really like about FIX+ is its excellent function as a mixing medium. While I've read many users spray on their brushes beforehand, the best way for a vibrant turnout is by applying eyeshadow first, followed by a light spray on the brush and pat in with the same color. This method is known as foiling, and prevents my eye makeup from creasing!
Sealed at the source high in the French Alps, the water spray is propelled by naturally safe nitrogen (80% of the air we breathe is nitrogen) and the canister is recyclable.
A cheaper alternative to MAC FIX+, the ingredient is pure natural Evian mineral water from the French Alps. Suitable for all skin types due to its balanced mineral composition and neutral pH, it boosts your skin hydration level by 14% which keeps your makeup fresh and replenishes moisture loss from perspiration.
The Evian Spray can be used as a toner, and I love to spray sparingly to set my liquid foundation before finishing off with loose powder. The weather in Singapore can get ridiculously hot at times, so this comes in handy when your face needs a refreshing perk-me-up.
I like that it is unscented, unlike FIX+ and doesn't irritates the skin. As such, I find it safe to "Evianize" Milo, who seems to enjoy the teasing ALOT. He tends to get really excited and I ended up getting scratched... What irks me is the nozzle which tends to leak and the same thing happened to my last 3 canisters.
Unfortunately, Evian isn't up to par with FIX+ when it comes to "enhancement". It took two extra coats to get the pigment to POP and creases in less than two hours.
I have been using FIX+ for three months now with numerous trials and errors. Overall I am satisfied with the product, mainly for its ability to vibrant up my eyeshadows and keeping it last for approximately 5-6 hours. Evian on the other hand is relatively cheaper and feels more refreshing on the skin. And with the non-existence of glycerin, I am able to spritz as much as I want without looking like a grease ball.

In-house brand Studio Tools has a variety of extremely affordable makeup brushes which are available at all Target stores in the US. My buddy picked up a crease brush and the perfectly-tapered bristles should make for easy blending. Did I mention that it's SOFT with no shedding problem?
Revlon Illuminance™ Crème Shadow - Lilac Splash
This ombre palette is alluring with four soft colors and finishes off with a warmth of gold. They are extremely sheer especially the pearlized pink which proves the hardest to capture. They are weightless and creamy but CREASE EASILY and are better off to be used as an eyeshadow base.
Revlon Illuminance™ Crème Shadow - Moonlit Jewels
These four flattering colors really bring out the brown hue of my eyes. Unlike Lilac Splash, the pigments show up better with a single swipe and blending is a breeze. They serve well as undertones for powder eyeshadows for a more intense effect.
L'Oréal HiP Metallic Shadow Duo - Magnetic
Gotta credit my friend for her keen observations: I was lamenting the unavailability of this range in the local market and sulked as I looked on at the L'Oreal ad in the March issue of Vogue.
Magnetic features two shades of blue that look completely different out of the pan. The ligher shade looks icy blue but is more of a heavy grey tone while the navy blue looked murky-black with light tinges of navy shimmery.
I toyed with the colors and they turned out alluringly smokey, but no hints of blue at all. Despite the deceiving appearance, HiP compensates with the vibrant color payoff. Magnetic can be used as a subtle daytime smoky look and with a heavier hand, you can pile on the navy blue and dark eyeliner for a fun night out♥
The L'OREAL HiP range will be launched in Singapore shortly. Yippee!
Wet n Wild IDOL EYES™ CRÈME SHADOW - Techno & Electro
These creme pencils remind me instantly of NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils. While the latter has an appealing creamy texture, WnW's formula is slightly drier. But when it comes to blending, it gives an illuminance finish, similar to Revlon's creme shadows while NYX tends to cake up my lids before I applied on any eyeshadow. Also, they join the Crease of Shame... you get the jist.
NYC Color Cosmetics Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder
A couple of months ago I started to 'desire' that sun-kissed glow but insisted on not getting tanned, so Dee proposed to get me a bronzer. Since it had been a long wait, I got Revlon's mineral bronzer which I love but have been neglecting due to often usage of MAC Sun & Moon and Clarins Face & Blush powder.
It took ALOT of effot to get the color to show up, which is good unless you want that sunburn look (lol) This bronzer is matte and looks really natural, perfect for contouring. It comes with a cheapo sponge and the lack of a hinge makes the compact awfully weak... I fear it might break with the constant open-close.
Kiss Nail Artist Paint & Stencils - Pearl Blue
This kit comes with a blue enamel and 10 cutesy stencils, perfect for those are atrocious in the Art Department...like moi! What's disappointing is the watery lacquer, which makes it hard to control with it dripping all over the place.
Wet n Wild COLOR ICON™ EYESHADOW PALETTE - Lust
Now we have come to my favourite item of the swap. These palettes were released just this year and have been gaining raves among makeup junkies for their EXTREMELY, INTENSIFIED PIGMENTS! (These words have been popping up in this post!)
They come in 3 matte and 3 highly-pigmented shades and a swipe without base, LOOK AT THE COLOR PAYOFF! One thing that I don't like is the powdery feel - loose and dry to the touch.
Another long-winded post, this happens when you are about to turn one year older. Sigh!
- Aug 19 Thu 2010 22:33
It was around November 2009 when I did a swap with my buddy, Dinah. Now fast forward to August 2010, I've finally received mine! Better late than never~. oi(^-^) Honey, you never told me what a beautiful city Stockton is?! A wonderland, surrounded by waterways and rivers☆
We decided to do an exchange and send each other a bunch of our favourite products to try out. While I emphasize more on skincare beauty, she is all about makeup! So I got her some facial masks, particularly that Pearl Mask which was the last I've seen in local stores. It has been months since but still no signs of a re-stock. Also she loves the Maybelline Primer as do I, so a 2nd tube will be on your way pretty soon.
The sun was about to set when I got home today so, I'll leave the swatching and introduction in a later post. Here's what she got me:
- NYC Bronzing Face Powder
- Kiss Nail Artist Paint & Stencil
- Revlon Creme Shadows
- L'OREAL Hip Eyeshadow Duo
- Wet N Wild ColorIcon Palette & Creme Shadow Pencils
- Target Studio Tools Crease Brush
Yesterday I got Estée Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Star Pink. This shimmery light lilac shade is part of the Blue Dahlia Pure Color Collection created by the brand's Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux for Fall 2010.
This baby proved to be a reluctant camwhore, and my poor arm had to suffer as I lifted it up towards the light to get a precise color capture. (TωT) For some reason, the gloss smells like beer/champagne...?
Here's a comical shot of Milo for your amusement~.

I'm sure many beauty junkies have heard of the legendary Crème de la Mer that has gathered a cult following around the world. The Rolls-Royce of moisturizers and the Secret lies in the Miracle Broth, which is a nutrient-rich blend of sea kelp with an array of vitamins and minerals. Formulated by NASA scientist Dr Max Huber to clear up burns he suffered in a laboratory explosion, Crème de la Mer was born after some 12 years and thousands of experiments later.
The creme itself is thick with a pleasant scent that isn't overpowering. Start off with a small amount and rub it between your palms or fingers. The heat generated from the rubbing will liquidfy the product which activates the Broth and releases its key ingredients.
Earlier this year I headed to the LA MER counter, hoping to find out more about the product. One jar cost about $250++ and I'm not prepared to splash out that sum of money without any proper sampling. I was promptly served by a BA and enquired about the original Crème and Gel de la Mer, an alternative for those with oily skin.
The BA applied the Crème on the back of my hand and no doubt it is moisturizing, I told myself not to be impulsive as more consideration has to be taken account. The gel version on the other hand was a temptation altogether - it is light and refreshing compared to the creme and sinks in faster. As this absorbs into the skin faster, you can save the hassle and omit the "Broth Brewing" step.
Here comes the rant - Some may know I'm apprehensive when asking for samples unless I am really interested in purchasing. At that time I really couldn't decide between the two products and decided to ask for samples. The BA quickly changed her attitude to a slightly hostile tone and told me that she had ran out of samples as they come in "limited stocks." I was told the next shipment will arrive the week after and promised to contact me after jotting down my particulars.
2 weeks came and went like tumbleweeds. I decided to ring up the same counter and was told there was no record of me on the waiting list and that prompted me to write an email with no reply. By the time I wrote a second one -this time a complaint-, it was a month after the counter visit and my patience was running thin. Guess what? They replied the next day and even offered me a pathetic sachet of the Creme. Although they have a dedicated base of consumers, but what about new and sincerely- interested customers? How do you expect them to fork out $200++ without trying it first, especially in this current economy?! Tsk!
Nonetheless, I was sickened by their poor customer service and decided to PURCHASE the sample over the Net. It cost me around S$35 for a minature version that is the size of Milo's paw! (TωT) But thankfully, it can last up to 2 months.
One thing that irks me is not the time-consuming "brewing" process, but how much of this expensive product can go to waste. When the creme eventually liquidfies, there is plenty of the product still sticking to my palm after application. I personally felt CDLM is more suitable for those with dry skin, for it leaves a filmsy feel no matter how long I've tried to pat the product into my face. Looking at the top 4 ingredients - Seaweed extract, mineral oil, petrolatum and glycerin, mineral oil and petrolatum are what make the formula extremely sticky.
There have been numerous concerns with the inclusion of mineral oil in CDLM. The truth is it merely acts as a barrier on the skin that prevents moisture loss. Joseph DiNardo did a study that was published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, he found out that the cosmetic grade of mineral oil used in beauty products is not comedogenic aka it does not cause acne.
However for a creme this expensive and doesn't have consistent reviews, I do not recommend for those who have acne-prone or sensitive skin. There's no clearing up of acne nor do I feel my pores tightened and diminishing of fine lines. Also, the theory of Dr Huber using the creme to clear up his burn scars didn't apply the same results to mine caused by acne. Not even the slightest.
To combat with the stickiness, I tried using MAC Fix+ to soften the skin and allow for better product penetration. Yes I know glycerin exists in both products but using it externally does help but doesn't solve the problem. These days I use the AQUALABEL Aqua Enhancer to infuse the rich properties into the deep layers of the skin with the help of its Aqua Synergy ability. Lastly to absorb the last bit of that sticky feeling, I use SANA Skincare Powder which does a good job of keeping my skin matte.
Being in an air-conditioned room dries out the skin, and as mentioned that the creme is suitable with such skin type, I used this logic by applying at night but the stubborn product refused to budge! I probably will not purchase this in full jar size, but am considering the gel version instead... Yay or Nay?
There are constant comparisons between the Rolls-Royce and the German Nivea Creme because their formulas are nearly identical. Both have that same light floral scent, and are thick and rich in consistency. But Nivea is slightly stickier, and doesn't melt between your palms let alone on your face. It leaves you looking like a grease ball so I tend to use an amount the size of my pinkie to apply on my face.
Appearance-wise, CDLM has a matte look whereas Nivea resemblances whipped oil cream which isn't appealing at all. The latter is a cheaper alternative, costing at a mere S$2(price defers so don't quote me on that). Despite the oiliness, it hydrates my body really well without feeling like you've just stepped out of a busy Chinese kitchen.
This has been a long-winded entry, 3 days in the making. Hope you had fun reading.

Elizabeth Arden EIGHT HOUR CREAM Skin Protectant
I had gotten this in a jar and a tube which is enough to last me for a very long time. Thinking so, my "stocks" are depleting after distributing the creamy formula to a bunch of friends (lol)
I call this the Elizabeth Arden Tiger Balm, because it smells a lot like our local heat rub BUT doesn't contain any tiger parts. It can be used for soothing skin irritations, abrasions, chapped lips, sunburn etc. No thanks to my new pair of shoes, this protectant managed to heal the developed blisters at a rapid speed.
Unfortunately this can get slightly greasy so I often advised my friends to apply a thin layer on the wound, and then paste on a band-aid before they go to bed. In conjunction with the brand's 100th Anniversary Celebrations, Elizabeth Arden Singapore has kindly sponsored 5 limited edition "Tiger Balms." Comes in a tin that has been compressed in a balm-form, this protectant is significantly less greasy than its counterparts. The compact also makes it convenient to bring with you on-the-go. A tip: you can brush a thin layer over your brows to set it in place and prevent fading.

Many of you have hear me rave about Elizabeth Arden's Mineral Foundation, online and offline. You want that matte luminosity finish without having to pile on multiple products(highlighter, blush or bronzer). Especially if you are going for a natural nude look, the finely-milled foundation does double duty as a loose powder and doesn't cake your makeup with subsequent touch-ups.
My fellow beauty junkies in Singapore, this is the time to get your hands on this coveted product and the OH-SO-SOFT Brushes! Only at Sephora Ion, you can get the Brush set at S$19.90 (UP S$42) with purchase of the Mineral Foundation. While stocks last and limited to one brush per Mineral Makeup purchase.

Our skin starts to sag due to the force of gravity over time as we get older which result in an undefined and flabby silhouette. In a bid to slow down this ageing process, Clarins believes that refining and reshaping our facial features is a priority. The Shaping Facial lift Lipo-Drain Serum [REVIEW] is the first, essential step in any line-control, anti-age skincare routine and comes with a unique menthod which has been specially designed to miximize the serum's effects.
Understanding How Facial Contours Can Change
Look at yourself in the mirror with your face raised to the ceiling. Notice that your facial contours look sharper and puffiness are minimized? This is precisely what we all want to achieve - the coveted V-Shaped face contour☆
Next place the mirror on your laps, face down and WARNING! don't faint when you look at your reflection. As we age, the effects of gravity on the skin become visible - the skin is not as firm and begins to sag. All excess toxins accumulate in the centre of your face making resulting in a heavier, older-looking feature.
The Clarins "Manual Auto-Lifting" Method
Enhance the natural fluid-release process without pulling the skin, this method helps to promote a youthful appearance, smoothing away wrinkles and refining contours. For effective and quicker results, integrate it into your beauty regime. Make this a habit and you won't even think of it as a chore. Σ(ﾟー^*)
Not with just the Shaping Facial Lift serum, this method is applicable with other serums and moisturizers. It takes just 3 minutes with each product, and I can see my face looking lesser like a fishball as this treatment reduces water retention.
The following illustrations show how we can achieve an instant facelift. It should be practised while seated, in the "head down" position, your elbows on the laps and put the weight of your head in your hands. Hold each position for 10-20 seconds, or longer if you want to concentrate on the areas which concern you the most. Squirt out the serum and slightly warm with your palms, don't overdo it unless you want your hands to absorb the product instead.
For those using the Shaping Facial Lift, you might want to store it in the refrigerator to experience a more pronounced firming and stablising effect~.
The lines on your forehead makes you look older than your actual age. By applying pressure with both palms - this smoothes and helps avoid the appearance of lines.
Next, move your palms and completely cover your eyes with your hands over your forehead. This minimizes dark circles and helps to eliminate stress and puffiness. Strongly advisable to hold this position longer.
For those concerned with water retention - move your hands down to your cheeks, slightly separating them to leave room for the nose. You need to breathe, yah?
For those concerned with a fuller-shaped aka fishball face(like moi!), this helps to relieve water retention in the chin area. Rest the chin in your palms with the hands open holding the jaw.
The most important step, apply pressure with your hands holding the ears firmly. This eliminates the accumulation of lymphatic toxins in the centre of the face.
Isn't this easy? I hope this has been helpful for you. Let me know if you have any questions. Today is Friday the 13th, so take extra care and enjoy your weekend!

In recent years companies have shift a large part of their attention from traditional marketing tools such as TV commercials & magazine advertisments to Social Media. Known as the "Blogger Outreach," these corporations look out for active bloggers to promote their brands and products, and create more awareness with their readers.
However, some look upon bloggers the wrong way. I am referring to beauty bloggers in particular. Anyone can be a beauty blogger - just start a blog and post an entry about a product or advertisement an ongoing promotion etc. But we shall leave this discussion for laters.
Some corporations think that by gathering a bunch of beauty bloggers for a tea session, give away a bunch of products and expect us to do damage control for them. Some might think it is a win-win situation - bloggers get FREE stuff; the companies get to save themselves a whole wad of cash, because publication and advertisement cost money.
I was in attendance at such a gathering and was uber disgusted. Sugarcoating your words, and getting a bunch of ladies to "clear the air" for you. Oh and as a 'token of appreciation,' they throw in a bunch of their products for us to try and expect us to come up with a review within a short specific amount of time.
You don't have to be a genius to figure out what's going on - the company had faced a recent scandal and tried to harsh down the situation in the shortest time possible. We are not talking about whose at fault here, the product or a particular group of irresponsible media. They don't matter in this discussion.
As I was saying, there's a recent crisis going on and as such, a gathering was organized at the very last minute. The organizer jumped straight into the main topic without a proper introduction of the brand - threw in a news article of the said scandal, assuring us that there is nothing wrong with their products.
Please DO NOT FLAUNT your wealth! It is arrogant to be showing off your social status. I get that you know so-and-so from a major corporation and you can afford to advertise your products everyday for months at a time. You don't have to harp on it every second. It also shows in your attitude - your sincerity with bloggers like me. "Oh, here are some samples, take it all so we won't need to lug them back." WHAT THE HELL? And given your wealthy status, I guessed it probably slipped your mind to provide a PROPER PRESS KIT?!
Many of the beauty bloggers that I know are well-educated women. We are not bimbos with the only knowledge of applying colors on our faces. We have brains to process whatever brainwashing broth you're trying to brew.
Anyone can be a blogger. Start a blog and work on your area of interest. I have come across numerous beauty blogs that are simply just a platform to get free products. They use the word "FREE" so freaking -freely- that it sounds very offending.
I speak for myself - when I review a product, I give my most honest opinions. My readers agree with that, having sent me emails and telling me about how they love certain products I had reviewed prior. If I like the product, I will state so, and that goes the same for the ones that I don't like. If I encounter a breakout, I will not hestitate to voice out my opinion.
Like many, I do my research online to read on the raves and boo-hoos of a product that I wish to purchase. Companies moderate reviews, so it is hard to judge how good the product is based on the comments at their websites. This is where beauty blogs come in, bloggers like me review products that we have actually tried and tested, and then share with our readers on the products' pros and cons.
Do not expect me to, for lack of a better term, "apple polish" just because companies give me products to try. I am not obligated to write postive reviews, because this is not how I do things here. Readers look upon reviews and take your opinions into consideration for a reason. They value your views enough to purchase a specific product, the least you want to do is mislead them with bogus reviews.
However some blogs that I have come across don't seem to function the same way. And I'm talking about blogs started by Singaporeans so-called "beauty bloggers." When you are given a product to review, it means removing the plastic packing, open up the lid and ACTUALLY USE THE PRODUCT! One blogger whom I had attended the same event with, posted up a "review" two days later and proclaimed that she had been using the product for five days! Guess what, all her reviews at her blog are positive. Obvious, much? Another blogger was even more ridiculous - she got a full set of skincare products and posted a review that SAME night.
When it comes to skincare, it takes two weeks to a month before you can tell if the product is effective or not. Although things might work differently with makeup. How in the world can you tell if a moisturizer or serum is good for you after using it once or twice?
If a couple of words/sentences consitute to a review, then why do some of the other genuine bloggers even bother to try the products? There is always a risk of a breakout should the product doesn't agree with our skin. In a sense, we are like guinea pigs, or maybe "Guinea Bloggers."
And I would like to emphasize that getting free products doesn't give anyone the right to call a beauty blogger "Cheapskate." I resent the fact that some bloggers putting the word "FREE" everywhere on their blogs. "Free Massages! Things I get for Free! Free this, Free that!" What's worst is that when I am offering my readers a chance to experience a therapy treatment, other bloggers who are offering the same treatment goes all "FREE MASSAGE! COMMENT IF YOU WANT FREE MASSAGE" blasted all over their webspace. It makes you sound CHEAP, and directly projecting the same image to me and my blog!!
Thank You for reading. I hope this entry will have you understand me better. I intend to blog, review and share stuff as long as I have readers. Having such bloggers that "spoil the market" is absolutely unacceptable! Guess being a Libra and expecting things to be on the same scale-level makes me a bitch sometimes, but that doesn't mean I am wrong.
I would like to apologize to my body for keeping such angst within for so long, hence my recent breakout. It feels good to have said my piece and release the "heatiness" out of my system. Let's all enjoy some Milo time, which was taken earlier this afternoon~.

I was looking through Milo's digital album and they brought back wonderful memories from the past year. Still as vivid and distinct as ever.
From the first picture ever taken when he was brought home at 1-month-old, I remembered letting him out of the crate with just the both of us alone in the house. We were strangers then, not knowing what to expect from each other. Will he pounce on me? Does he bite? He WHINES ALOT, that's for sure.
His first exploration of the new residence, him being too timid to enter my room and sat by the door staring at this unkempt woman typing away on some rectangular box. It didn't take him too long to "gather enough courage" and settled by my chair, sleeping most of the morning away.
Like all first-time pet owners, I get a kick watching his every actions. From the way he sits, yawns, sleeps and tilting his head when he doesn't understand a word that I've said. Some told me their dogs snore. Milo doesn't, or not yet anyway (lol)
(Click for a larger resolution)
As Jack Russells get older, the more hyper they are. Bringing him out for his first walk opened my eyes to how 'perverted' Milo can be! He paid more attention to the women walking past us, and growled at the sight of the male species. Whenever we go on our strolls, I feel like he is the one walking me! The first couple of times, I almost became a banshee, screaming at him to slow down!
Milo can be ANNOYING at times! I used to miss the postmen as I could not hear them knocking on my front door from my room. While I'm thankful to him that I no longer miss any packages, but he barks and growls at anyone who walks past our door. ANYONE! He used to bark at the same old lady in the morning, and the poor lady was clearly shivering with shock. (I've not seen her since, hope she's alright) I've always thought he has more bark than bite, but judging from his recent ferocious attitude to a very forgiving courier guy, the darn pooch sure does pose a potential threat. m(_ _)m
We also can’t forget that dogs are NOSY. All dogs, especially puppies, have to check things out. Milo is NO EXCEPTION. He likes to sniff my clothes and place his scent on everything. Like marking his domain. I AM NOT YOUR TERRITORY, BUDDY! You better not pee on me!
Dear all, I am glad to have shared my moments with him, here at my blog ever since he arrived last October. Now my furry friend is about to turn ONE next month. There's still no plans yet, any suggestions?
PS: The last 4 pictures from the first collage were taken this morning~. (・∀・)

Thank You once again to the lovely Communications team at Clarins, I was given a truckload of goodies at the end of the very private yet casual bloggers' session.
During the "Skin Me" time, which is a 15/30 minutes(depending on your availability) one-to-one session, Jasmin applied Clarins' beauty regime on my arms. When you head down to the counters, the beauty specialist will do it on your face so as to identify your skincare concerns precisely and can recommend the correct products which are suitable for your skin type.
I often felt that my face looks dull. No matter how many whitening products I have used, the brightening effect only managed to last a couple of days. Especially when I'm PMSing, my complexion will appear so yellowish that it can totally dampen your mood. Sound familiar? So in my continous search for whitening products, I was introduced to Clarins White Plus HP Sea Lily Enriched Skincare range.
Formulated for Asian skin and has gathered a cult following among celebrities in Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, these products are effective in counteracting hyperpigmentation, reduce inflammation of skin cells and delivers micro-circulation to boost complexion radiance and restore youthfulness
With Sea Lily extract as the key ingredient, Clarins Research Labs have discovered that it can block the melanin tunnel, therefore helping to control melanin production. To put it in simple form, it reinforced protection against dark spots and less pigmentation problems for you and me!
One thing to note: with the inclusion of the Sea Lily extract, there is the absence of the Clarins unique scent. I can't really explain but head down to your nearest Clarins counter and take a sniff of their products(the green packaging).
Upon consultation, I was given these two products to try:
White Plus HP Whitening Moisture Day Emulsion
This milky solution has a fine, melting texture that instantly brightens, moisturizes and protects the skin against UV rays with SPF20 PA++. This smooth Day Lotion also preps the skin to enhance and prolong makeup all day.
White Plus HP Intensive Whitening Smoothing Serum
The most advanced skin care for a flawless complexion, this serum minimizes dark spots while refining the skin texture, thanks to the presence of oat sugars. This serum firms facial features, smoothes away fine lines, and restores the skin's transparent rosy glow.
Gentle Foaming Cleanser
Created to meet the needs of dry or sensitive skin, this cleanser is contains Katafray Bark Extract that prevents moisture loss and prevents the skin from drying out. Suitable for all skin types, this product is rich in Shea Butter and Pro-Vitamin B5 that nourishes and softens the skin.
Kudos to the combination of Shea Butter and the many plant extracts, this cleanser smells ~heavenly~. Head down to your nearest counter and take a sniff☆
One-Step Facial Cleanser
A 2-in-1 product that cleanses and tones the skin, removing every traces of makeup and promotes radiance. Ideal for travelers or agitated lifestyles. It contains ultrafine oils that is able to thoroughly cleanse the skin and the moringa seed extracts help to combat and neutralizes the effects of pollution and purifies the skin to restore its natural radiance.
I had mentioned about my upcoming vacation plans and this cleanser came highly recommended. The PR ladies have been using the full-sized product for one whole year and are nowhere finishing it. All you need is a small amount to cleanse your skin, and it contains orange extract that does triple work: refresh, tone and revitalize. On the downside, this product does not remove mascara effectively.
A cream-mask that intensively hydrates and revitalizes dehydrated skin, in all climates, at all times. Leaving on for 5-10 minutes helps to ensure balanced hydration and prolongs skin's freshness all day long.
I never dare to use any cream (especially clay) masks on my eye area, and after speaking out about my dilemma in looking for a hydrating eye cream, a sample of this was given to me. I'd previously tried the Smoothing Gel(on my face) but it didn't sink into my combination skin, thus I was looking "oily" whenever I used it.
Rouge Prodige Collection
As part of Clarins' Autumn 2010 make-up collection, this season is all about the lips. Introducing 29 exciting new shades, they are divided into 3 "families": pinks to plums, corals to reds and beiges to browns.
This forthcoming collection also features 3 limited edition products: Platte Prodige Face & Blush Powder that unifies and illuminates the complexion with new radiance; Instant Blush that brings colour to the cheeks; Kohl Eye Pencil(S$27) is perfect for creating that smouldering look.
Palette Prodige Face & Blush Powder (S$65)
Presented in a sleek gold case with a refined, elegant design, this compact powder enhances the complexion with its universal harmoney of 4 radiant shades. The fine, lightweight texture give a velvety, ultra-natural finish and instantly illuminates the complexion.
(As the colors were to sheer, I was unable to capture a clear swatch.)
To naturally enhance and even out the complextion, blend together the 4 shades:
Top-Left: Natural Beige
Top-Right: Pale Pink
Bottom-Left: Sparkling Coral
Bottom-Right: Sun-Kissed Beige
This can be used to set your makeup for a healthy glow, or on cheeks as a blusher.
Instant Blush Magic Colour (S$42)
Contained in a small transparent square jar with a gold lid, this blush is of a glossy, gel-textured iridescent pink(one colour) and can also be used on the lips. The "magic" element is that this formulation instantly reacts on contact with the skin, enhancing the cheeks by boosting their colour and radiance.
The colour shows up differently according to our skin tones. One application shows sheer, almost-to-nothing but with a second layer, I saw this natural rosy pink on my cheeks. As if I was blushing at the sight of a hunk! The texture is slightly sticky and is recommended to be used before setting your face with powder.
Rouge Prodige True-Hold Colour & Shine lipsticks (S$35)
Rouge Prodige is presented in an elegant, light gold case with a new chic, graphic design. Its tube has a slanted top and is embossed with the Clarins logo. Thanks to a technological innovation used here for the first time, the lid is stamped with a stylized Clarins leaf, delicately marked with the initial C.
(The casing is GORGEOUS, let me know if you want a closer look. I'll include more shots.)
Prodige lipsticks offer "stunning shin and long-lasting comfort" that never runs and lips take on the starring role in this overall collection. The shades are whipped with ceramides, essential fatty acids and waxes for nourishment and comfort.
The various shades of Rouge Prodige are divided into three 'families' which are: pinks to plums(14 shades), corals to reds(7) and beiges to browns(8).
Again, let's give the lovely Communications ladies a big pat on the back. I was able to choose the shades that I like, hence I was swatching like crazy looking for the shades that I would wear on a regular basis. The problem was that the shades were too appealing and I had a hard time shortlisting the 5 potential lippies to bring home. As you can tell from the photos above, I picked mostly coral ones since they compliment my skin tone. I have a blush in Tea Rose, so it might be interesting to pair it with an identical lip color. Yay or Nay?
The Autumn Collection will be available at local counters from August 2010.
This lengthly post has finally come to an end, and so is my Saturday. I can't believe it took me hours to type this up, including dinner time and distractions from the pooch who wants to play ball. Thank You for reading. Enjoy your weekend or what's left of it.

This morning I headed to Institut Clarins at Wheelock Place for bloggers' party. This marks Clarins' first official contactpoint with beauty bloggers, fully utilizing their motto: Closer to women.
I was the first to arrive, to find that the private party is a tad too intimate as only 4(including myself) were invited. The rest came an hour late, and by the time the 4th blogger arrived, my seat had been warmed for 2 whole hours!
While waiting for the others to arrive, I had plenty of time to venture around the place which appeared to be serene at 12 in the afternoon. Customers started streaming in for treatments two hours later, and I was told that all rooms have been fully booked. That tai-tais must be getting ready for the long weekend, eh?
Our lunch was catered by Goodwood Park. There is a severe lack of photos because the food was too delicious that photography was thrown all the way back to my head! I did snapped a shot of the menu, in case you were wondering about our sumptuous meal.
I did not pay attention to the menu, thus I thought lunch was going be the appetizers (lol) And then the food KEEPS ON COMING! I personally love the creamy soup, and the chocolate cake which reminded me of Ferrero Rocher~.
Every Clarins product is based on the latest scientific advancements and owes its effectiveness to plant extracts. Clarins aspires to bring women, as well as men, closer to nature through their plant-based products and treatments. Therefore, juices, herbal and fruit tea are being served everyday for customers and guests at the beauty institute.
Clarins Research Labs are constantly in search of the best Plant-extracting techniques, and has established links with a network of ethnobotanists
to a network of ethnobotanists who study botanical traditions of cultures all over the world. These validated scientific breakthroughs open the door to new developments and enable Clarins to remain at the forefront of innovation.
Head down to the nearest Clarins counter for a personalised "Skin Time." Beauty specialists will give a complimentary personal skin evaluation and prescribe the perfect regime with samples customised to your skin's needs. Do not be afraid to ask for samples, and Clarins have a "Try Before You Buy" philosophy to ensure each of their customer's satisfacion is guaranteed.
Besides showcasing their latest best-selling product, the Facial Shaping Lift and their exclusive Auto-Lifting Method, their upcoming Autumn Make-Up Collection was also introduced.
The swatching aftermath of their True-Hold Colour & Shine lipsticks.
I will introduce the Rouge Prodige Make-Up collection, and also a more precise illustration of the Auto-Lifting Method in my next post. The exercise helps drain the lymp nodes and therefore, this line-control, anti-age skincare routine can be used with ANY product.
A big Thank You and Congratulations to Brenda, Jasmine and Joanne on making this first-ever Clarins bloggers' party a success. I look forward to meeting you ladies again~.

I met Shirleen at various beauty events and gradually started chatting and exchanged numbers for easier contact. Two weeks ago, she emailed me if I'm interested to have dinner with Dr Woffles Wu(woffleswu.com)and a bunch of beauty enthusiasts. Dr Wu is Singapore's most famous plastic surgeon and Shirleen had been to his clinic a couple of times. During a visit for a review of her recent eye bag removal procedure, she asked Dr Wu if he was interested in organizing a workshop with a group of beauty bloggers. He replied with an enthusiastic YES and even suggested having a casual dinner at his place!
Attendees met up at a designated spot, and much thanks to Carol for providing transportation. The short journey there was like being in a Fast and the Furious movie, what an exhilarating ride (lol)
Doctors have to keep an ethical distance from their patients in order to provide analytical and dispassionate advice, and therefore appear cold and aloof at times. Most of us were starting to get the jitters - "How is Dr Wu like? Is he friendly?" women sure like to think alot beforehand... -_-""
Upon arrival, Dr Wu came to receive us at the gate and whatever nervousness we had quickly dispersed with his cheery "Hello!" Earlier he had requested to have us wear name tags as he's bad with names but evidently he still has a good memory.
We were treated to a sumptuous dinner, most of the food was prepared by his two maids and aunt. The delicious home-cooked broth reminded me of my late grandmother, who used to boil soups everytime I visit.
I apologized for the "Artsy" photos. I'd thought it was impolite to snap pictures at someone else's domain and therefore tried to sneak a couple to avoid "getting caught." Nah, Dr Wu turned out to be an amicable person and was trying to figure out why one of the steamboat appliance chose to malfunction right that moment.
Over dinner we bonded over various topics, one of which was Dr Wu's perception of "The Ideal Beauty." Ever the eloquent doc, he had us fascinated with The Golden Ratio theory.
(Courtesy of Shirleen)
Carol: Stop playing with your phones over dinner!!
Elfaine & Me: Yes, Mom! (´ロ｀)
Thank You Dr Wu and family for your hospitality, and taking out 5 hours of your precious time to have a private dinner with a bunch of chatty ladies☆
Check out this interview conducted by a Raffles Institution student, as part of a Biography Project. He had the privilege to interview Dr Wu at his Zen-like house.
Yesterday I met up with Hazel, Christie & Charlene for a lunch date. We chose The Marmalade Pantry, located at ION Orchard. I had Crabmeat Linguine pine nuts in a tomato base which didn't live up to the hype, as I had done my "research" the day before. The meat was too shredded and tasted like tuna...

Sometimes I wake up to bleary eyes and bad hair in the morning. What's even more excruciating is the sight of a puffy face - the result of overnight water retention. On regular good days, our bodies' natural lymphatic circulation helps to flush out excess fluids, But like a clogged sewage system, this process can slow down and lead to water rention due to many factors, one most common being the "time of the month."
Other culprits that lead to congestion of face tissues are lack of sleep, stress and poor diet, all of which can result in a bloated appearance.
Adipose tissue on the face
On the face, fat is distributed among 5 main pockets: two on the cheeks, two under the jaw and one under the chin. When fats accumulate in these pockets, the face appears too round and its profile becomes heavier.
Double chin don't grow overnight. Under our chin lies a fat pocket which holds fat cells that's filled with fatty acids and baby fat cells when we put on weight. That's when our face gets fleshier. We all know it's very difficult to get rid of a double chin. The reason - Fat cells in the face are protected by an impregnable protein barrier, which prevents fatty acids from escaping easily once they are produced.
To make matters worse, our skin starts to sag due to the force of gravity over time as we age. Plus, the collagen which is used to keep our skin taut and firm also breaks down. The result - a droopy face that looks undefined and flabby.
Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Lipo-Drain Serum targets three concerns.
It promotes lymphatic circulation that encourages facial tissues to expel excess fluid, reducing puffiness. To slim down a double chin, its blue button flower extract creates "holes" in the protein barrier so fatty acids have a chance to "escape." An Amazon plant extract builds up and strengthens a wall of collagen around the fat pocket inside the chin, stopping it from expanding.
Oat sugars give sagging skin an instant tightening effect, and the serum also firms up collagen over time, making the face more defined.
This serum work effectively using Clarins' "Manual Auto-Lifting" method (a guide comes with every bottle). This involves gently pressing six points on the face - from the forehead to the base of the neck - and is said to increase the serum's benefits by 20 percent.
This method is a must when using the Shaping Facial Lift regularly. In less than three minutes, it provides an optimal fluid-release action to instantly lighten and reshape the face.
Visible results after 3 weeks, facial contours and features are more defined and refined. Launched in July 2010, this specially researched and developed product for Asian women retails at $98.
Having only used this serum for two days, I can't comment yet if my fishball-shaped face have defined to a perfect, heart-shaped oval. However I felt a slight warmth on my face after applying on the product and using the Auto-Lifting method. I take it that the fats are slowly being burned away, and who says it's wishful thinking to bid adieu to your fishball face? I am looking forward to have a sharper feature like...
...not that I want to look like Milo (lol), but don't you love his facial contours?
Slim and Sharp, a Perfect Silhouette. (^-^)v

Last week I was invited down to ADONIS for a pampering session. I remembered this chain of salons had a string of advertisments in the 1990s. Who could ever forget the "ADONIS 爱美雅~" jingle?
This local establishment has been taking a backseat in the last few years to build up their expertise and reputation. This under-the-radar move proves to be smart as the staff greeted me at the door were really friendly and focused on explaining the treatment that I was to undergo that day.
3 pots of herbal tea - Anti-Toxin, Anti-Flush and Energy Plus were located at the guest reception. Since my session was all about relieving tension, I was handed a cup of Anti-Toxin tea to flush out the "heatiness" and toxic within my body.
I was then led into a small, but well-ventilated room for my Chakra treatment. There, I was told to remove all accessories and clothes, including my undergarments. Once changed into disposable bra & panties, I wrapped myself with a towel and Nicole, my therapist helped me into bed.
No pictures galore this time as no one volunteered to be the photographer. Furthermore, it is a full body massage with slight nudity involved, I wouldn't be comfortable with a third person in the room.
After removing my makeup, followed by a cleansing routine, we shall now proceed to the 7 Haven Chakra holistic therapy.
7 Chakra origins from Ayurveda, a Sanskrit word which means "science of life" or "practice of longevity." This is India's traditional system of medicine that touches on all five senses to impart a deep and total feeling of well-being. With precise and gentle techniques, an infusion of Synergy oil extracted from the plant species is massaged into the system to help in the realignment of our body's centre axis.
7 Chakra rebalances the energies of the body with the application and inhalation of the Aromatic Essential oil. The ingredients used in the essential oil are ethically harvested from air pollution-free natural habitat. Utilizing Eco methods to maintain the health of both plants and soil, non-toxic chemicals and fertilisers are used, which in turn ensures that groundwater are not polluted.
7 Chakra: Base, Sacral, Navel, Heart, Throat, Brows and Crown.
The infusion of the essential/synergy oil used for Base, Sacral and Solar Chakra are classified as "warm" emitting frequency oil which balances the "yin" are of the reproductive system, Abdomen and Navel.
The essential oils classified as "cool" emitting frequency oil that balances the "yang" area of the Heart, Throat, Temples and Crown.
The massage started from my legs, tummy, back, shoulders, temples and lastly, my crown. Nicole was uber friendly and our conversations were revolved around our pets throughout the 2-hour session.
The entire duration proved to be too comfortable, not the mention the soothing aromal of the various essential oils, my brain was a total blank! I was trying to focus whatever brainpower I have on not fidgeting. You see, my body is sensitive and in turn converts to ticklish fits at the touch of foreign hands. Fortunately my nerves "reacted" well with Nicole, PHEW!
According to her, I am in good health. My muscles were stiff in a good way, and none of my limbs appeared to be tired. Before you go in for the treatment, PLEASE DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING! Take small sips of the offered tea, otherwise... About 30 minutes before I went in for the therapy, I had lunch at MacDonalds. I was trying to control my containing how-many litres of medium Coke bladder, so just imagined me starting to fidget when Nicole starting to press my tummy and going in circles for 5 torturing minutes!
After the 'ordeal' was over, I was treated to a refreshing mask and left alone for 20 minutes, listening to Ayumi Hamasaki's piano instrumentals.
At the end of the session, I could breathe more easily INTERNALLY with the aid of the Green/Heart Chakra essential oil. Infused with Lavender, Cypress, Pine and many other ingredients, this helps for better blood circulation and strengthens the immune system. Before Nicole begins massaging with a new Chakra oil, she'll pour a small amount on her palm and have me inhale it, so as to evoke your inner senses for better absorption.
Ever since the 7 Haven Chakra holistic therapy had been introduced by ADONIS a year ago, the Chakra essential oils have been selling like hotcakes. Alas, there wasn't any left for me, instead I got a bunch of their in-house skincare products! I shall introduce them in a future post.
- Ang Mo Kio 6455 3255
- Bedok 6444 3033
- Bukit Gombak 6764 6606
- Jurong 6563 6066
- Lucky Plaza 6235 6566
-Tampines 6757 3078
- Vivo City Harbourfront 63769525
ADONIS is offering 5 of my readers to enjoy this special therapy, valued at $280! Other participants will also get to try this stress-relieving treatment at a special introductory price. So stay tuned NEXT WEEK!!!

Congratulations to Shiseido Asia for collecting more accolades at the Watsons Health Wellness & Beauty(HWB) awards '10! ﾟ+｡:.ﾟヽ(*´∀`)ﾉﾟ.:｡+ﾟ
Awarded for Quality & Innovation, these winning awards are a reflection of the popular taste and consumers' changing preferences & lifestyle. In a nutshell, these best-selling products were "voted" by paying consumers at Watsons stores islandwide.
Shiseido's Majolica Majorca was launched in Singapore 2 years ago. When you visit some of the larger Watsons stores, you'll find pretty dresser displays filled with plenty of testers.
Best-Selling Glittery Eyeliner - Perfect Automatic Liner
It comes in a click-pen applicator with a synthetic bristles brush. I got this in BK920 which has a bold black base with subtle pearlescent colors.
Best-Selling Quad Eyeshadow - Jeweling Eyes
Available in 8 palettes, each comes with 4 complimentary colors packed in cute princessy compacts. PK785 is a pretty & feminine soft pink palette. The pigments are formulated with a mixture of virtually colorless, translucent pearls of various sizes, a range of light reflections occurs, resulting in a variety of light intensities being reflected from a polyhedral cut. The eyelids then emit contrasting glitter every time they are seen from different angle.
Best-Selling Lengthening Mascara - Lash Beautifying Mascara Frame Plus
Comes with a 2-sided comb - one that lengthens the lashes and and the other to create long separated lashes. The lengthening liquid contains jet-black fibers that will extend your lashes; the formula doesn't smudge, is long-lasting and water-proof.
ZA Cosmetics has been around for many years. In fact, their best-selling star product, the two-way foundation cake is the first one I'd ever owned before venturing into other brands.
Best-Selling Whitening Foundation - True White Two-Way Foundation
The smooth, micro-fine powder provides a delicate veil without clogging the pores. This foundation minimizes the appearances of pores and helps even up skin tone for a natural and radiant finish.
Best-Selling Concealer - Concealer Perfection
Didn't I mentioned that this concealer has really good coverage? This creamy concealer is able to cover imperfections like dark circles and acne scars and contains Vitamin E to energize the skin. However, I feel that the formula is too dry to be used on my under-eye shadows, and my earlier purchase still has not resurfaced!
Best-Selling Brow Liner - Ever Brow Liner
Comes with a special brush for grooming and coloring brows, the specially designed applicator allows control for better color density using light, feathery strokes.
The Next Big Brand Brand - AQUALABEL
This brand has quickly received critical acclaim, having been raved all over in Taiwan and Japan for many years before it finally hit our sunny island. Only officially launched last month, the products have sent local women going gaga at Watsons. I am certainly not exaggerating here, for the counters are always packed.
I picked up the Aqua Enhancer Mo which belongs to the moisturizing range. It contains high concentrations of Aqua Synergy to supercharge all skincare ingredients into deeper layers of the skin. In a nutshell, this is meant to be used as the last step of your skincare routine, to lock all the goodies from the products you have used, thus they are effectively and maximally absorbed.
This star product can be used with other products. As such, I can continue with my normal beauty regime, and seal in all the goodness with the Enhancer.
Looks like the pooch is STARSTRUCK ☆o☆
Just minutes ago, Milo handicapped a big cockroach and went to hide at a corner while I smacked the damn pest with a broom. BRAVO, my darling!
